Join our Finance Team!
In this new role of Finance Officer Payroll Costing & Process Improvement, you will strategically provide essential support to budget managers and the wider Finance team by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of staff cost data, working alongside operational teams, Payroll, and the Oracle Delivery Team to maintain reliable payroll‑costing data within Action for Children finance and payroll systems (Oracle).
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Accurate reconciliations, timely corrections, managed through effective collaboration that will contribute directly to high‑quality financial reporting.
Contributing to financial reporting improvement initiatives and system/process‑change projects.
Review payroll outputs and apply detailed costing alignment with AfC’s organisational structure and cost centres.
Investigate and resolve payroll costing discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure alignment of payroll costing elements across ERP, HCM, and EPM.
Work collaboratively with the Oracle Delivery Team.
Assist with reconciliations of payroll data across system modules.
Maintain clear documentation of costing processes, updates, and changes to support internal controls, audits, and compliance.
Let's talk about you
AAT Level 3 or Level 4, or Business, Finance, or accounting degree, or demonstrable equivalent experience in finance, payroll costing, or financial controls.
Understanding of payroll processes, the Chart of Accounts, and cost‑accounting principles.
Experience with finance, payroll, HR, or business systems, with the ability to learn new tools; Oracle Cloud or similar ERP/HCM experience is desirable.
Demonstrable analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in resolving costing issues.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and demonstrable people skills.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with data analysis tools or Power Query is an advantage.
