The Role
We’re exploring how AI can help us work smarter and deliver even better support to deaf children, young people and their families. Over the past year, we’ve seen promising results and learned a lot — and now we’re ready to take the next step.
We’re looking for an AI Lead to help us do just that. In this new role, you’ll guide the exploration, design, development and adoption of AI-powered products and emerging technologies that support our organisational strategy.
You’ll be a thought leader for AI across NDCS — sharing knowledge, building confidence, and helping teams and stakeholders make the most of what AI can offer. Working closely with our CIO, you’ll identify opportunities where AI can enable delivery of our strategic objectives across service delivery, campaigns, fundraising, research and operational efficiency.
What you'll do
Develop & execute the organisation’s overall AI strategy, vision, and roadmap.
Build strong relationships with senior business and technical stakeholders, acting as a key liaison for all AI-related matters.
Work with cross functional teams and 3rd party suppliers to scope & deliver strategic AI projects that support NDCS’s mission.
Drive innovation by staying current with emerging AI technologies, evaluating new applications, and identifying strategic AI opportunities for the charity to lead, partner or adopt.
Align AI initiatives with broader business objectives and long-term goals.
What you'll need
Extensive experience in AI, Data Strategy & Technology Leadership.
A strong understanding of data governance, analytics & machine learning.
Proven track record of aligning data initiatives with organisational goals.
Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values & principles.
A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position).
What you'll get
12 Month fixed-term contract
Home-based working with flexible hours.
25 days holiday - plus an additional 3 days at Christmas (& bank holidays).
Pension (5.5% employer contribution).
Healthcare Cashplan.
Annual performance-based salary increase.
Employee Assistance & Wellbeing Programmes.
