What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with HR, Finance, Transformation and operational stakeholders to understand how our organisation works today and help design how it should work tomorrow.
You'll:
Lead workshops to understand current ("As-Is") HR processes across the employee lifecycle, from hire to retire.
Design simpler, more effective future ("To-Be") processes that improve the experience for managers and employees.
Gather, challenge and define business requirements to support the implementation of a new HCM/ERP platform.
Work closely with subject matter experts to understand operational needs and translate them into clear business requirements.
Take an "out-of-the-box first" approach, encouraging standard system functionality rather than unnecessary customisation.
Map business processes using recognised methodologies such as BPMN.
Conduct gap analysis to identify opportunities for simplification, automation and continuous improvement.
Consider how HR processes integrate with Finance, Payroll and other business systems.
Produce high-quality documentation including process maps, user stories, functional requirements and business cases.
Support testing, training, business readiness and go-live activities.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who combines excellent business analysis skills with practical HR systems experience.
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience delivering HR transformation or HCM/ERP implementation projects.
A strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes across the employee lifecycle (Hire to Retire).
Experience working with HR systems such as Workday, Oracle HCM, Oracle Fusion, Dayforce, Unit4 or similar.
Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Experience facilitating workshops with stakeholders across HR, Finance and Operations.
Excellent process mapping skills, including As-Is and To-Be process design.
Experience producing user stories, functional requirements and process documentation.
Confidence challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities to simplify ways of working.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work in an evolving transformation environment.
It would be great if you also have
Experience working in a complex, multi-site organisation.
Experience within social care, healthcare, retail or another operationally intensive sector.
Knowledge of BPMN and business modelling techniques.
Experience supporting ERP selection or implementation programmes.
BCS Business Analysis qualification or equivalent.
What this role isn't
This isn't a purely strategic role where you'll spend your time writing reports.
It isn't a consultancy role where you're advising from the sidelines.
And it isn't about creating overly complex processes or heavily customised systems.
Instead, you'll be part of the team delivering real change—working closely with colleagues to simplify processes, improve employee experience and implement practical solutions that make a lasting difference.
Why join Lifeways?
This is an opportunity to be part of one of the most significant HR transformation programmes in our organisation.
You'll help redesign how thousands of colleagues interact with HR throughout their careers—from recruitment and onboarding through to learning, development and beyond.
You'll work alongside senior leaders across HR, Finance and Transformation, helping shape a simpler, more connected and digitally enabled organisation.
If you're passionate about HR transformation, enjoy solving complex business problems and want to see the impact of your work across an entire organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
