Are you an experienced journalist with a passion for education? Twinkl Digest, our leading online news publication for educators, is looking for a skilled Sub Editor to help shape the voice that informs over 160,000 readers.
In this role, you will be more than just a Sub Editor. You will ensure the accuracy and sensitivity of our content, mentor our writing team, and support the Editor in upholding the high editorial standards that drive school improvement. Whether it’s digital news or our academic print magazine, your work will directly impact education leaders, teachers, and parents across the UK
What you'll be doing:
Editorial Excellence: Proofread, edit, and sensitivity-check content to ensure it aligns with our editorial guidelines and audience needs.
Team Leadership: Line manage writers, providing constructive feedback and mentoring to develop their journalistic skills.
Content Production: Support the production of our academic print magazine and assist in writing/sharing copy across social media channels.
Industry Awareness: Stay current with key education news and developments to ensure our coverage remains authoritative and relevant.
What you'll bring:
Editorial Expertise: A strong background in journalism with proven experience in editing and proofreading.
Communication Skills: The ability to provide clear, supportive, and outcome-driven feedback to your team.
Industry Insight: A solid understanding of (or a willingness to immerse yourself in) the UK education sector.
