    Make a difference
Every role at the HTA contributes to our primary goal, to protect the public and provide professional confidence in the use of human tissue.

We are the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and public display. With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the centre of our work, we aim to maintain confidence in the use and storage of human tissue.

If you’re looking for a new role in Policy and Development that gives a true sense of meaning and purpose then you’ve found it!

Please note that the HTA is a largely homebased organisation, with occasional travel to London as required.

    Picture this
As our Interim Project Support Officer, you’ll be a key part of a small, multi‑functional team delivering a strategically important programme of work. You’ll support the effective planning, coordination and delivery of project activities, working closely with the Project Manager, policy colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.

This is a hands‑on role at the heart of project delivery.

    You will:
Provide day‑to‑day project support, helping to keep plans, actions and milestones on track.
Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, take accurate minutes and follow up actions.
. Maintain key project documentation, including plans, risk and issues logs, and status reports.

    The role
At the heart of this role is organisation, collaboration and attention to detail.

You’ll be someone who enjoys supporting delivery, bringing structure to workstreams and ensuring that information is accurate, timely and accessible.

You’ll be someone who feels comfortable working with others to deliver the best possible outcome for the HTA. We’re a small but supportive and effective team delivering an important project.

You’ll be encouraged to take initiatives, and at times, be required to deliver at pace.

You’ll work flexibly across the project, contributing to a range of activities and responding to changing priorities. By building strong working relationships, you’ll help maintain effective communication between teams and stakeholders involved in the project.

    Show us
We will be looking for evidence of the following skills, knowledge and experience in your application:

    You will bring:
. Experience of providing effective project or programme support within a public sector, regulatory or similar organisation (or equivalent experience).
. Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
. Experience of supporting meetings, including agenda preparation, minute taking and action tracking.

    Compliance
To progress your application, you’ll need to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. Without valid right to work you won’t be eligible for the role. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Some roles may also be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

If you apply, you’ll need to create a profile and complete an online application form. Your application will be completely anonymous.  Please see our information for applicants for more details on the process. We contact every applicant to let them know the outcome of their application, so you will hear from us whether or not you are shortlisted.

    Flexible Working encouraged

    Equity for all
We know job descriptions can feel intimidating. Research shows they can cause some people to doubt whether they’re a good fit. This happens more often to people from underrepresented groups (e.g. ethnic minority backgrounds). If this role interests you, we encourage you to apply. Your unique perspective, skills, and experience could be exactly what we need.
We want every candidate to feel supported and able to do their best. If you need adjustments to our process, we’ll work with you to remove any barriers. If you’d like to discuss further, please contact recruitment@cqc.org.uk

Please note, if you have previously informed us of adjustments you need for interview or within your role these are not carried over and must be discussed for each individual application you make.

We promote a workplace where fairness, respect and inclusion are a priority. Diverse teams make our work better, help us deliver our mission and make our culture stronger.
    We welcome applications from everyone.

    HTA Values
We are guided by our core values, which shape our work and our culture:
    Excellence – being a high-performing organisation
Collaboration – treating everyone with dignity and respect
Openness –  trusting in each other and sharing information openly
Respect – understanding each other and respecting we are all different

Note on the use of AI
AI tools can be great for research and refining ideas, but we want to learn about you. If you use AI or Chatbots to help you with your application, keep these points in mind:
AI can support research, structuring and refining your writing, but your application must reflect your real skills and experience.
Spell-checking and condensing word counts are great ways to use AI effectively.
Do not copy and paste AI generated answers. These will not help your application stand out; remember we want to hear about your skills and experience.
Providing false and insincere examples may lead to your application being withdrawn or termination of your employment.
