We are looking for the next wonderful individual to join our team, supporting apprentices through gaining a JNC recognised Professional Youth Work qualification.
The Role:
Salary £35,000-£40,000 DOE
As a Professional Learning Mentor you will support Youth Work Apprentices to meet assessment standards throughout their professional learning journey with Captiva.
Provide Supervision and Support
Use supervision as a core component for the assessment of professional practice against the apprenticeship KSBs. Ensure that learners are producing high quality evidence that demonstrates progress towards learning outcomes.
Collect and analyse feedback from apprentices, employers, and colleagues to continuously improve the programme. Implement changes based on this feedback to enhance the learning experience.
Promote and facilitate the professional formation of youth work apprentices. Ensure that apprentices are up to date with the latest youth work practices and sector trends. Facilitate networking opportunities and encourage engagement in communities of practice.
Ensure a High-quality Learner Experience.
Ensure that the delivery of the programme is consistent, high-quality, and tailored to the needs of individual apprentices. Adapt teaching methods and materials as necessary to enhance learning outcomes.
Maintain clear and effective communication with apprentices, line managers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates and ensure that any issues are promptly addressed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with employers who are part of the apprenticeship programme, especially line managers. Ensure that their needs and expectations are met, and that they are kept informed of their apprentices' progress.
Effective Caseload Management
Monitor and support apprentice’s progress throughout the programme. Identify any areas where students may be struggling and implement strategies to help them stay on track.
Foster an environment that encourages active participation and engagement from all learners. Utilise various techniques and tools to maintain high levels of interest and involvement. Ensure that learner records are up to date and accurate
Design and implement targeted interventions for apprentices who require additional support. Ensure that these interventions are effective and timely to prevent further academic or personal difficulties from having a negative impact.

This role would suit someone with a passion for youth work who is keen to see the sector grow and develop.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
A passion for and keen interest in Youth Work education (essential)
JNC recognised Professional Youth Work qualification (essential)
At least two years’ experience leading and managing youth work (essential)
At least five years’ experience of direct delivery of youth work with young people (desirable)
Experience of using IT systems, particularly online and virtual meeting platforms
Education and Training
Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
Master’s degree ideally in youth work or related field (essential)
CAVA or similar assessor qualification (e.g. PTLLS, A1, AET) (desirable)
Demonstrable track record of your own continuous professional development
