Reporting to the Head of People, the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager plays a vital role in ensuring colleagues across Kids feel informed, connected and engaged with our purpose and strategic priorities.
You’ll lead the development and delivery of high-quality internal communications, drive engagement initiatives, and help shape a positive, inclusive organisational culture where colleagues feel valued and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications Leadership
Deliver an internal communications strategy in collaboration with senior leaders
Ensure key organisational initiatives are clearly communicated across the organisation
Advise the Executive Leadership Team on communication approaches and colleague sentiment
Create messaging and content for senior leaders, including briefings and scripts
Ensure consistency of messaging across all channels
Content & Channel Management
Plan, create and publish engaging content across intranet, email, social and in-person channels
Source and develop stories that bring our values and strategy to life
Maintain strong brand voice and consistency across all communications
Colleague Engagement & Culture
Lead engagement initiatives to strengthen the colleague experience
Support and enhance colleague induction through structured plans and resources
Partner on colleague benefits communications
Wellbeing
Support delivery of the organisational wellbeing strategy
Develop and maintain wellbeing resources and communications
Promote initiatives such as the Employee Assistance Programme
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Lead DEI communications and engagement activity
Support the DEI Steering Group and external partnerships
Ensure inclusive principles are embedded in all communications
Events & Engagement Delivery
Support with major internal events such as One Team Kids Day
Manage planning, communications and delivery of engagement initiatives
Coaching & Leadership
Support colleagues and leaders through coaching and effective communication
Build communication capability across the organisation
Enable successful change through clear and engaging messaging
Crisis Communications
Lead internal communications during sensitive or crisis situations
About You
You’ll be a confident and creative communications professional who is passionate about engaging people and building strong organisational culture.
You will bring:
Proven experience in internal communications and engagement
Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
Experience advising and influencing senior stakeholders
A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality content
Strong digital communication skills (intranet, social platforms, etc.)
A genuine interest in engagement, wellbeing, DEI and culture
