Purpose of the post
This role will work as part of small but highly effective People Team and provide a wide range of HR support across the institute playing a key role in supporting delivery of the People strategy ensuring that HDR UK is able to achieve its ambitious vision and mission.
The HR Officer will work closely with the Senior HR Operations Manager and will be responsible for providing generalist HR support to recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, HR policies and process, and will be the first point of contact for general HR queries through management of both the recruitment and general people inboxes..
The postholder will need to be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities and able to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
Main responsibilities
Generalist Duties:
Inputting new starter information on the HR system (PeopleHR), ensuring a high level of accuracy
Processing contract amendments on the HR system
Being the first point of contact for managers and staff on a range of operational HR issues
Managing the HR and Recruitment inbox, and triaging/dealing with request and queries
Supporting with preparing HR reports as and when required
Supporting the monthly payroll process in collaboration with the finance team; including changes to salary, FTE, Maternity/Paternity payments and SSP.
Liaise with the Company's Occupational Health provider to organise health surveillance for our employees and assist the HR Manager with OH referrals.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Responsible for end-to-end recruitment of new staff, managing the applicant tracking system, job advertising and setting up interviews.
Preparing all new starter employment contracts and managing the onboarding process
Preparing secondee contracts and being the first point of contact for secondee enquiries
Managing offboarding for staff, including exit interviews and return of equipment
HR Systems:
Work closely with the internal systems team to ensure all employees, including new starters have the appropriate equipment for their role.
Be the day-to-day owner of our HRIS, maintaining data, employee information, documents and annual leave and sickness records.
Maintain the LMS with Joiner, Leaver and Mover information
Key contacts / relationships:
