Head of Compliance Advisory

Location: This role is a Remote role with a requirement for some office presence (approximately 8-10 days per year)

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week  

Salary: Up to £95,500 depending on experience

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced compliance professional to join Pinnacle Pet Group UK as Head of Compliance Advisory. In this high-impact role, you will lead the delivery of strategic regulatory advice, partnering with senior leadership to navigate FCA and PRA requirements while enabling practical, commercially sound solutions that support the continued growth of our regulated businesses.

    Here’s what you’ll be doing with us:

    • Build and lead effective relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators and external partners.

    • Provide clear, commercially focused regulatory advice, supporting the business in managing compliance risk and implementing effective controls.

    • Oversee the development and embedding of compliance policies, governance frameworks and best practice standards.

    • Lead horizon scanning and provide insight into regulatory change, ensuring the business remains informed and prepared.

    • Partner with the business on strategic change initiatives, offering regulatory input across projects and decisions.

    • Act as a subject matter expert for regulatory compliance, representing the organisation externally and delivering training internally.

    • Own oversight of the SMCR framework and regulatory governance across UK entities.

    • Lead, develop and coach the Compliance Advisory team, driving high performance and capability.

    • Produce high-quality reporting for Committees and Boards, and deputise for the Group Chief Compliance Officer as required.

    • Champion good customer outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance supports fair and effective consumer decision-making.

    • Support wider compliance leadership activity and collaborate closely across teams.

    • Promote a strong security and resilience culture, including oversight of access, risk, incident escalation and business continuity readiness.

    Our wish list of your previous experience:

    • An appropriate and relevant Financial Services Qualification

    • Previous experience managing a Compliance Advisory team

    • Extensive Compliance and Regulatory experience gained at a senior level.

    • Excellent working knowledge of UK regulation, particularly in relation to FCA / PRA.

    • Strong working knowledge of the SMCR regime requirements. 

    • Working knowledge of financial crime prevention controls.

    • Ability to interpret regulatory developments and apply them to business activities. 

    • Pragmatic decision maker when judging the severity of potential compliance issues, mitigating actions required and the management level to which it must be escalated. 

    • Significant people management and leadership experience.

    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

    • The ability to network at all levels and build excellent internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.

    • Organisation — being able to prioritise and manage the department workloads, whilst delivering a high standard of service.

    • Maintaining industry and sector awareness — locating, gathering, retaining and distributing information effectively.

    • Thinking analytically - being able to understand complex technical information.

    • Displaying confidence and professionalism - demonstrating relevant levels of knowledge and understanding, and providing views and opinions backed by a comprehension of commercial situations.

    • A self-starter that can manage change, work under pressure and secure results.
