The Gift Operations and Fundraising Data Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and insightfulness of our fundraising operations. By managing the flow of gift data, maintaining and improving the quality of our Individual Giving CRM records, and delivering data-driven analysis, this role supports Individual Giving and Engagement and the wider Fundraising team in achieving income targets and enhancing supporter engagement. The postholder will act as the bridge between data and strategy – ensuring that every gift is accurately recorded, every donor is thanked, and every decision is backed by meaningful insight. The postholder will make sure donor records are accurate, gifts are processed quickly and ensure we maximise income through Gift Aid. Through strong collaboration with teams across Fundraising, Finance, and Individual Giving and Engagement, this role will help drive both operational excellence and innovation in how we use data to grow our impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting and Analysis
Coordinate monthly fundraising KPI reporting and reconciliation across Fundraising & Development, holding team members accountable to deadlines.
Pull and analyse gift and performance reports to evaluate campaigns, track appeal performance, and support team decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve fundraising insight, efficiency, opportunities and decision-making through automation, AI-enabled tools and more effective use of data.
Build and maintain real-time automated fundraising insight models and create dashboards that reflect income trends.
Support the development and adoption of self-service reporting and dashboards, enabling colleagues to access trusted fundraising insights more effectively.
Identify key data needs in the department and deliver relevant reports, working with Tech and Transformation where relevant.
Support the team and wider department in KPI analysis, including working with colleagues across Magic Breakfast, such as Brand and Marketing, to assess how insights from their work impact fundraising.
Conduct churn analysis and develop donor retention strategies using supporter data and Salesforce plug-ins.
Support the department with monitoring and evaluation projects for reporting to funders or to enable strategic work, where appropriate.
Perform A/B testing analysis and share insights to improve email and campaign effectiveness.
Supporter Care and Gift Administration
Respond promptly to donor queries related to donations or Gift Aid, delivering excellent supporter care.
Process reporting for all income, including text, website, postal, standing orders, direct debits, payroll giving, JustGiving, and more.
Ensure all gifts are accurately logged in Salesforce to maintain up-to-date dashboards and supporter records.
Record, scan, and bank cheque and card donations received by post.
Work with the team to support them in delivering timely and appropriate donor thank-you communications.
Insights and Planning
Support the Head of Individual Giving and Engagement with data selection and segmentation for supporter communications and appeals.
Work on data requirements for strategic initiatives such as Sustainability X.
Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of fundraising data products, dashboards and insight tools that support strategic decision-making and supporter engagement.
Oversee our searchable database for historical fundraising reports and materials to promote knowledge sharing and efficiency.
Develop visualisations for pitches, reports, and campaigns, and using our request system for data visual assets.
Data Management and Compliance
Act as a data steward for fundraising and supporter data, promoting data quality, consistency and effective use of data standards across fundraising systems and processes.
Classify IG&E income weekly using bank downloads, collaborating with the Finance team to record unknown income correctly.
Oversee Gift Aid administration, including sending forms, updating Salesforce, cleansing records, and submitting data to Finance for claims.
Maintain accurate records in Salesforce for all Individual Giving income and activities.
Conduct regular data cleaning, de-duplication, and historic back-entry projects to ensure CRM integrity.
Ensure all gift instruments are accurately recorded for audit purposes.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Passion and commitment to alleviate hunger as a barrier to learning in the UK.
Experience using Salesforce / similar CRM or an aptitude for learning new software quickly.
Strong skills in data analysis and reporting, with experience using Excel
Knowledge of data automation, forecasting models, and dashboards.
Commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Familiarity with Gift Aid processes and fundraising financial reconciliation
Experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries
Experience of working well collaboratively within a team.
Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and their application to fundraising and supporter engagement.
Solution focused, with a commitment to improving systems.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work independently.
Demonstrated ability to clean and manage large datasets with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, a collaborative team player.
High level of competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detail.
