Job Description

As a Finance Apprentice, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of finance activities, helping to ensure reporting is completed accurately and on time to support the continued success and growth of the business. You’ll rotate across different areas of the finance function, giving you the opportunity to build a strong foundation of knowledge while learning from experienced colleagues.
From processing invoices and reconciling transactions, to supporting budgeting and reporting, you’ll develop practical skills and an understanding of how finance supports decision-making across the organisation.

Please note this is a full-time, two year temporary contract which is based in Cornwall. In line with our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum of two days per week) and remotely within the UK.
You’ll help us by
Supporting invoice processing, supplier payments and purchase orders within Accounts Payable.
Assisting with employee expenses and company credit card processes.
Helping to reconcile store and online transactions and bank and control accounts, resolving any issues that may arise.
Supporting the management of wholesale accounts.
Assisting with data integrity checks and basic troubleshooting for finance systems, working alongside the technical team.
Assisting with the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
Supporting variance analysis to assist budget holders in understanding spend vs budgets and forecast.
Assisting with tax and customs compliance across UK and international requirements.
Supporting monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering activities, helping to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and commercially meaningful.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team
GCSE Maths (Grade 6/B or above) and English (Grade 4/C or above).
Three A Levels or Equivalent, or Level 2 Accounts/ Finance qualification.
A genuine interest in finance and developing a career in this area
Be able to demonstrate strong numeracy and confidence working with numbers.
High attention to detail
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to manage professional and learning responsibilities effectively.
Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Well organised, ability to prioritise workload.
Ability to work well to deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a team.
The Apprenticeship:
As one of our Apprentices, you will be on a 2-year fixed term contract starting in September 2026. Your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
With support from your line manager and the Training & Early Career Advisor, you will be working towards a Level 3 Assistant Accountant standard.
We are looking at recruiting on potential and your enthusiasm to succeed. Because of this, we will be running an Assessment Day to find out more about your skills for this role. The Assessment Day for this role is taking place on: Friday 24th July.
