About Equation
Our goal is for everyone to have equal, healthy relationships free from domestic abuse. This is front and centre of everything we do. We run education programmes with young people in schools, training for professionals and behaviour change programmes, as well as raising awareness of where to get help and support. We also run a helpline and support services for men and LGBTQ+ people experiencing abuse living in Nottinghamshire.
About the role
Use your digital expertise and creative skills to help us end domestic abuse
Sitting within the Marketing & Communications team, this is a new role that will focus on improving the reach and impact of our digital communications.
It’s an exciting time to join the team as we’ve recently rebranded and launched a new website aimed at survivors and professionals.
We are looking for someone who is creative, organised and digitally confident to develop, manage and optimise our digital content and channels. A particular focus will be on refining and developing content for the new website and using SEO and GEO to ensure we’re reaching people when they need us.
You’ll create compelling and powerful social media content that promotes our work and helps to educate people about domestic abuse and its impacts.
We welcome a test and learn approach and are open to new ideas and ways of working.
What you’ll be doing
Managing day-to-day website content and coordinating updates from colleagues so content is accurate, timely and consistent.
Reviewing website content for accessibility, usability, duplication and relevance.
Using keyword research, headings, page titles, metadata, internal links and content structure to improve SEO and GEO.
Planning, creating, scheduling and publishing engaging social media content for different channels and audiences.
Using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console and other relevant tools to understand website performance, search visibility, audience behaviour and user journeys.
Producing clear digital performance reporting and turning data into practical recommendations for improvement.
Working with colleagues across Equation to turn complex or sensitive information into clear, accessible digital content.
Championing audience-first, inclusive and accessible digital communications across the organisation.
What we’re looking for
Experience creating and managing website content using a content management system.
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, including the ability to communicate complex or sensitive information clearly.
Practical knowledge of SEO and experience optimising website content for search.
Experience using digital analytics to monitor performance and identify improvements, ideally including GA4 and Google Search Console.
Experience creating and managing content for organisational social media channels.
A good understanding of digital accessibility, usability and audience-first content principles.
Strong organisation, planning and prioritisation skills, with excellent attention to detail.
A collaborative approach and the confidence to share digital advice and insight with colleagues.
Experience in a charity or purpose-led environment, or of wider digital marketing activity, would be useful but is not essential.
