Data Assistant (London)

Location: Hybrid (1 - 2 days/week in our London office)
Temporary: From 3 November 2025 to 30 January 2026
Working hours: Full time, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (35 hours per week) although there may need to be some flexibility for starting earlier or later based on different time zones.
Salary: £14 per hour

Times Higher Education is hiring proactive Data Assistants for temporary positions from 3 November 2025 to 30 January 2026, fluent (both written and verbal) in one or more of the specified languages:
o Arabic o Spanish o Turkish o Japanese o Portuguese o Hindi/ Tamil o Urdu o Thai
o Mandarin o Cantonese o Uzbek o Ukrainian o French o Korean o Indonesian
o English (as native language)
This position involves verifying data from institutions in varied time zones and may require occasional early or late starts for client calls.The ideal candidate will have a “can do” attitude and a willingness to understand the product and “ask questions” to ensure the “data entered” and maintained is with accordance to THE standards.

Responsibilities
Verify the accuracy and completeness of incoming data from institutions.
Maintain records of data validation activities.
Collaborate with Data Supervisors, Data Editors, Data Operations Manager and Data Delivery Managers to escalate/ resolve data issues.
Meet data validation targets.
Provide support for data queries and administrative tasks.
Foster institution engagement in rankings
Resolve customer queries and complaints; determining the cause of the query/problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the issue; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution via phone and email.
Where required customer service calls will be required to be made to support institution with the data collection cycle.
Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.
Go the extra mile to engage customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Required
Fluent in both written and verbal in language specified on application.
Professional and clear communication skills in both written and spoken English as well as one of the above languages.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Customer support experience
Data entry skills
Good IT skills, including Word, Excel & Outlook
Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
