    The team

    The focus on this role will be assisting the administration of the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), which is delivered by Local Energy Scotland (a consortium of Scottish based charities led by the Energy Saving Trust).  This is a highly regarded Scottish Government programme that enables local communities to develop, invest in and benefit from renewable energy projects.  For further information on the CARES programme see here

     

    The role    

     The job purpose is to provide administrative assistance to enable the effective delivery of this scheme which supports local communities to develop, invest in and benefit from renewable energy projects.  Your work will include:-

    • Organizing/minuting meetings

    • Drafting of offer documentation

    • Administration of web tools

    • Payment of claims

    • Assisting team administration and resolving customer enquiries.

     

    This will be varied and interesting development opportunity with the Renewables team and you will be proactively encouraged to grow and develop your role over time.

     

    What you’ll bring  

     

    • You are not required to have knowledge of the renewable energy sector to apply for this role but good customer service skills or experience in a customer facing role is desirable.

    As part of our recruitment process, we conduct background checks on all candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment. The nature of the scheme that we are contracted to work on with Scottish Government means that we are required to comply with UK Government standards when carrying out pre-employment checks for new starters. This check is known as the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (or BPSS) check. 

     

    The BPSS checks will include a basic criminal record check (DBS check), verification of identity, verification of right to work in the UK and your previous 3 years employment history. Information obtained will only be used for the purposes of assessing your suitability for the role. Please note that if successful, any offer of employment made will be conditional pending the successful completion of the BPSS checks.
