Currently, nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia: a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime - either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both - and too often, people are left to cope alone with the relentless, ever-changing challenges. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible.

At Dementia UK, our specialist dementia nurses provide life-changing support to families when they need it most. Behind every successful clinical service is a team of people ensuring everything runs smoothly. That's where you come in.
We are looking for a Clinical Effectiveness Administrator to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover for an internal secondment. In this role you'll play a vital role in supporting the Clinical Effectiveness team and the wider directorate. From coordinating meetings and managing booking systems to supporting quality improvement projects and maintaining essential documentation, you'll help ensure our team can focus on delivering our services.
We're looking for someone who has experience supporting a busy team or department in a complex administrative role, where they've managed multiple priorities, coordinated meetings and events, maintained systems and records, and built strong working relationships across different teams.
You'll also be an excellent communicator, confident building positive relationships with colleagues across the organisation and acting as a first point of contact for the team. You'll be comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders, working independently in a remote environment and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a calm, professional approach.
To be successful, you'll have previous experience in a busy administrative role, excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience supporting projects, managing diaries, organising meetings and producing high-quality documentation will be essential. You'll also have the confidence to use your initiative and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
Experience of supporting remote teams, working within healthcare or the charity sector, or using SharePoint and online booking systems would be an advantage, but isn't essential. If you're quick to learn new systems and enjoy supporting others, we'd love to hear from you.
Our cultureIn addition to offering a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, we truly value our people. It’s important for us to create a workplace culture that looks after our people to support them in achieving their full potential. We recognise and value the key role you will play in delivering our strategic plans for the benefit of those living with dementia.
Our staff have a voice. Representatives from different roles and levels across the organisation lead and positively contribute to our working groups around health and wellbeing, menopause, and equity, diversity and inclusion.
Our supportive and nurturing workplace culture has recently earnt us recognition as the Sunday Times Best Place to Work in the non-profit and charities sector 2025 (big organisation).
Dementia UK is proud to welcome everyone. We aim for a truly inclusive culture with talented, diverse teams that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We celebrate differences and individuality and encourage everyone to feel comfortable being themselves at work.
By applying to join Dementia UK, you acknowledge that in the event you are successful for the role, any offer and your ongoing employment will be conditional on you having or obtaining the right to work in the UK.
