We’re offering an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity to cover maternity leave. This role is fully home-based, giving you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own space while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
You’ll work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and only need to travel for occasional meetings.
Are you a problem-solver with a passion for technology? As a Business Solutions Developer at Guide Dogs, you’ll use your expertise in Microsoft and Salesforce technologies to develop and manage our core business systems. Your work will directly support fundraising, service delivery, and organisational priorities, ensuring we can continue to help people with sight loss live the life they choose.
In this role, you’ll design, build, and optimise business solutions that improve how we operate. You'll work closely with teams across the organisation, integrating our core business systems with external systems, developing SQL Server applications, and ensuring our systems run smoothly. Whether you’re streamlining data migration from legacy systems, driving system architecture decisions or customising Salesforce using Apex and Lightning Web Components, your technical skills will have a real-world impact.
Beyond development, you’ll take ownership of problem-solving, collaborating with stakeholders to define system requirements and deliver practical, scalable solutions. You’ll play a key role in system design, managing version control, testing, and release processes. This is your chance to lead innovation, improve efficiency, and shape the future of our technology landscape.
About You
You’re an experienced developer who thrives on creating solutions and delivering seamless user experiences, all with a positive, can-do attitude. With a strong background in programming languages such as SQL C# VB as well as Salesforce development - you’re as confident working with clustered indexes, object classes and Using statements as you are debugging Apex, using Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, and APIs. You know how to optimise databases, manage data migrations, and integrate systems to create seamless user experiences.
Beyond technical ability, you’re a great communicator who can break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders. You’re comfortable working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with business users, and liaising with third-party suppliers. Staying ahead of emerging technologies excites you, and you’re always looking for ways to improve, automate, and innovate.
If you have additional certifications like Salesforce Developer II, Platform App Builder, or ITIL, or experience with integration tools like MuleSoft, that’s a bonus—but what really matters is your drive to create high-quality, impactful solutions.
