Activities and Volunteer Administrator
At Betknowmore UK, we work to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm through support, education, training and community engagement. As our Activities and Volunteer Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of recovery-focused activities, volunteer programmes and community engagement initiatives that help people affected by gambling harm.
We're looking for an organised, proactive and people-centred individual to help coordinate activities, support volunteers and contribute to the effective delivery of projects across the organisation, including The Legacy Project. The role combines volunteer coordination, service administration and project support, helping to ensure activities and volunteer programmes are safe, engaging, well-organised and aligned with our values.
Working closely with the Activities and Volunteer Manager, you'll support volunteer recruitment, onboarding and development, coordinate activities and events, maintain accurate records and systems, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of volunteer and community engagement opportunities.
What you'll be doing
Coordinating activities, events and recovery-focused programmes, including supporting the delivery of The Legacy Project
Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing development of volunteers
Coordinating volunteer involvement across services and projects
Providing supervision, guidance and regular support to volunteers
Supporting the delivery and administration of volunteer and community training sessions
Maintaining accurate records, monitoring information and reporting data
Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and best practice across volunteer programmes and activities
Building positive relationships with colleagues, volunteers and external partners
Supporting the planning and delivery of volunteer wellbeing events and community engagement initiatives
Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of activities and volunteer services
What we're looking for
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
Experience supporting or managing volunteers and a strong understanding of volunteer management practice
Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders, including volunteers, beneficiaries, community groups and partner organisations
Knowledge of volunteer recruitment, interviewing, training and retention
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and risk-aware practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational, administrative and coordination skills
Experience using digital systems for monitoring, reporting and record keeping
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently while contributing to team objectives
Experience within the charity, community, health or social care sectors would be advantageous, as would knowledge of gambling-related harm, CRM or case management systems, trauma-informed practice, and lived experience of gambling harm either directly or as an affected other.
