We're looking for a compassionate, organised and motivated individual with lived experience as an affected other of gambling harm to help develop and deliver high-quality, person-centred support services. This role combines service coordination, volunteer management and contributions to training delivery, helping to ensure affected others receive safe, trauma-informed and effective support.
Affected Other Coordinator
At Betknowmore UK, we work to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm through support, education, training and community engagement. As our Affected Other Coordinator, you'll play a key role in leading the coordination and delivery of support for people affected by someone else's gambling harm.
We're looking for a compassionate, organised and motivated individual with lived experience as an affected other of gambling harm to help develop and deliver high-quality, person-centred support services. This role combines service coordination, volunteer management and contributions to training delivery, helping to ensure affected others receive safe, trauma-informed and effective support.
Working across service delivery and training functions, you'll coordinate support programmes, supervise volunteers, contribute to training and service development, and help embed best practice across all aspects of affected other support.
What you'll be doing
Coordinating the delivery of support services for affected others, including one-to-one and group-based interventions
Supporting and supervising volunteers who deliver support to affected others
Maintaining safe service capacity and ensuring support is delivered to a high standard
Ensuring support is person-centred, trauma-informed and responsive to individual needs
Managing safeguarding concerns, risk assessments and incident reporting processes
Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, induction and ongoing development of volunteers
Contributing to the delivery and development of Peer Aid Training Programmes, particularly those focused on affected others
Monitoring service quality, collecting feedback and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining accurate records, monitoring information and reporting data
Building relationships with partner organisations and representing Betknowmore UK at meetings, events and training sessions
Supporting awareness raising and engagement activities focused on affected others
What we're looking for
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
Lived experience as an affected other of gambling harm
Experience coordinating services, projects or support programmes
Experience supporting, supervising or managing volunteers
Experience delivering training, workshops or group facilitation sessions
A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and trauma-informed practice
Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
Experience working with vulnerable individuals and people with complex needs
Strong organisational and time management skills
A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and lived experience-led approaches
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to wider organisational objectives
Experience within peer support, health, social care or voluntary sector services would be advantageous, as would experience of co-production, working with Experts by Experience, and contributing to training design or development.
Key information
Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Full-time (35 hours per week)
