Wellbeing & RESPECT Coordinator (Ediburgh)

Working hours: 2.5 days per week (including regular evening and weekend work)
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (pro rata). Approximately £14,000 - £15,000 per year depending on experience.

Role Purpose
The Wellbeing and RESPECT Coordinator will lead the delivery and activation of the RESPECT and #AreEweOkay? campaigns/initiatives across the Young Farmers network.
This role will include inspiring, supporting, and equipping over 70 SAYFC RESPECT Ambassadors throughout Scotland, promoting messages around:
• Mental health awareness and suicide prevention
• Alcohol and drug awareness
• Respecting others across gender, sexual orientation, and neurodiversity
• Creating safer, kinder, and more inclusive rural communities
The role requires significant collaboration, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the wellbeing of young people in agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Delivery & Activation
• Lead delivery of the RESPECT campaign across SAYFC clubs, activities, events, and training.
• Coordinate and amplify the impact of #AreEweOkay? conversations, events, and digital and other materials.
• Develop engaging wellbeing content and resources for clubs, ambassadors, and digital channels.
• Support local and national SAYFC events with wellbeing activation, including social media, competitions, training sessions, and presence at shows, events and rallies.
Ambassador Support & Development
• Recruit, train, and inspire over 70 RESPECT Ambassadors in clubs across Scotland.
• Deliver workshops and briefings to support ambassador confidence and capability.
• Build a strong ambassador community, encouraging peer support and shared learning.
• Create/source accessible guidance and tools to help clubs promote wellbeing and respect.
Partnership & Collaboration
• Work closely with RSABI and SAYFC staff teams to ensure aligned messaging and shared planning.
• Build strong relationships with clubs, regional committees, and volunteer leaders.
• Represent RSABI and SAYFC at events, meetings, and external engagements.
• Liaise with key rural stakeholders to enhance campaign reach and impact.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Track campaign engagement, participation, and ambassador feedback.
• Report regularly to RSABI and SAYFC on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
• Contribute to evaluation reports, case studies, and evidence of impact.
Essential
• Experience in youth work, community engagement, wellbeing work, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate sensitively, confidently, and positively with young people.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently, organise workload, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends, with travel across Scotland.
• Passion for promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and respect.
Desirable
• Understanding of the Scottish agricultural community.
• Experience in mental health awareness, suicide prevention, or substance awareness education.
• Experience of training or mentoring volunteers.
• Digital content creation skills.
Terms & Conditions
• Contract: 2-year fixed term, part-time (2.5 days/week).
• Employer: RSABI.
• Reporting to: RSABI Chief Executive in partnership with
SAYFC Chief Executive.
• Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
• Hours: Part-time with frequent evening and weekend commitments.
• Travel: Scotland-wide, with expenses covered in line with policy.
