Save My Exams is a rapidly growing EdTech business on the lookout for an experienced Senior CRM Manager to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term basis. We are an exciting, customer-obsessed, remote-first startup that is improving the lives of millions of students every year.
Reaching more than 4 million users every month, all while being bootstrapped and profitable, we’re looking for a strategic, hands-on CRM leader to drive our customer lifecycle marketing function and empower students to succeed with confidence.
This is a unique opportunity to lead CRM at a profitable EdTech business during a pivotal period. You'll own the end-to-end customer lifecycle strategy and play a key role in embedding CRM as an essential, value-add function across the business.

The Role
This is the role for you if:
You have significant experience leading CRM or lifecycle marketing functions, ideally in a product-led or subscription environment
You're equally comfortable with strategy and execution - you can set the vision and get into the detail of journeys, segments, and reporting
You're passionate about AI tools and see them as a way to work smarter, whether that's automating template creation, streamlining reporting, or accelerating campaign builds
You have proven line management experience and enjoy developing team members
You have strong data literacy and can define success metrics, run A/B tests, and translate performance data into actionable insights
You're confident owning cross-functional relationships and can advocate for CRM's value across Product, Growth, Content, and Insight teams
You have a deep understanding of CRM best practices across deliverability, segmentation, and personalisation
You’re willing to get your hands dirty - comfortable building campaigns, writing copy, and owning execution alongside strategy
You're adaptable, thrive in dynamic environments, and can hit the ground running
Job requirements
Based in the UK (we're remote with flexible hours)
Significant experience in a senior CRM, lifecycle, or customer marketing role
Proven line management experience
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business goals into CRM roadmaps
Deep understanding of CRM analytics, including defining success metrics, forecasting, A/B testing, and incrementality measurement
Experience owning cross-functional relationships and influencing stakeholders
Hands-on experience building and optimising email campaigns and automations in a modern CRM platform
Strong creative copywriting skills and clear written communication
Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to improve marketing workflows
Nice-to-haves
Iterable platform experience
EdTech or freemium product experience
Experience with incrementality testing and experimentation frameworks
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Amplitude, GA, and Tableau
Experience managing deliverability and list health at scale

Job responsibilities
Over the contract , you’ll:
Own the end-to-end customer lifecycle strategy, nurturing users from registration through their lifetime with a focus on conversion and retention
Deliver the 2026 CRM goals for incremental new purchases and member learning retention
Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies in CRM workflows, contributing to company-wide AI initiatives and leveraging tools like Claude Code to automate repetitive tasks
Lead strategic planning for H1 2027, building on H2 2026 plans
Be the go-to CRM expert for the business, embedding CRM as a strategic, cross-functional capability and working closely with Product, Growth, Content, and Insight teams
Own the technical setup of CRM systems (Iterable) and collaborate with Engineering and Data teams as needed
Define, analyse, and report on metrics that demonstrate CRM's impact across the user journey
Ideate and build emails and automations from scratch, including writing copy and liaising with designers where needed
Own the email calendar, ensuring we maximise seasonal opportunities
Maintain best-in-class deliverability and sender reputation
Foster a continuous test and learn culture to optimise performance and generate insights
Line manage (potentially helping to recruit) an Executive as the team grows, supporting their onboarding and development

Competitive annual salary of £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience & skills
36 days of annual leave, this includes the UK bank holidays but you can take them whenever suits you (pro-rated for the length of the contract).

Flexible working hours: We don’t expect (or want) you to spend every waking hour at work. Our general working hours are 9-6pm, however we have a company-wide principle around Core Hours, which is 10-4pm and you can work at times that suit you and your team
Remote working: we’re UK based but you can work from your home or wherever you want
