About the role
As our Senior Operational Compliance Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping us build and maintain the systems, processes and controls that enable our work to happen safely, effectively and in line with our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Working closely with the Head of Operations, you’ll lead on areas including contract management, data protection, information governance and internal assurance.
This is an opportunity to shape and improve how compliance works within a growing organisation. You’ll take a practical, solutions-focused approach, helping to develop and embed compliance practices that reflect SEA’s values, operational needs and ways of working, making it easier for team members to do their jobs confidently and in a way that ensures SEA is in compliance with its legal obligations.
About you
You will have substantial experience in operational compliance, data protection and information governance or a related field, who can work independently, apply sound judgement and take a proportionate approach to risk.
You’ll be comfortable reviewing contracts, identifying potential issues and recommending practical solutions, while recognising when specialist advice or escalation is needed. You’ll have good working knowledge of UK data protection requirements, information governance and records management, with experience of applying these in practice.
You’ll combine strong organisational skills with the ability to communicate complex requirements clearly and accessibly. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys improving systems, supporting colleagues and finding ways to make compliance effective, practical and people-centred.
