United Learning is delivering an ambitious transformation roadmap to ensure teachers have the right tools to teach, pupils can learn independently, and the organisation is structured for efficiency and growth. Our Data Team is at the heart of this journey and are midway through a programme to transform our data landscape.
As part of a team that is redefining how schools use data, you’ll design and deliver reporting solutions that empower leaders, teachers, and stakeholders. You’ll manage the lifecycle of Power BI dashboards, support the development of our data lake strategy, and help drive innovation in educational analytics. This is an exciting time to join us as we develop United Analytics, our new reporting platform, giving schools and leaders access to powerful and automated insights. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to sector-leading initiatives shaping the future of data and AI in education, such as Open Education AI (OEAI).
If you’re a confident analyst with experience managing data for groups of schools, working independently, engaging with stakeholders, and delivering reporting solutions that meet strategic and operational needs, we would love to hear from you. This position is initially a full-time fixed-term 12-month contract to cover maternity leave within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Own the reporting lifecycle: Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting products end-to-end, ensuring clarity, usability, and accuracy.
Collaborate with stakeholders: Gather requirements, co-design reports, and translate strategic needs into actionable insights.
Drive innovation: Contribute to the development of new data tools and predictive models, and support the rollout of United Analytics.
Champion data literacy: Deliver training, provide support, and respond to queries to help schools and central teams use data confidently.
Ensure quality and governance: Apply robust data governance, access control, and quality assurance to all outputs.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential
Advanced Power BI skills (DAX, data modelling, Power Query).
Strong Excel skills and basic SQL knowledge.
Experience working with trust-level education data, ideally in a MAT or similar organisation.
Ability to deliver reporting solutions independently and at pace.
Strong communication skills and confidence in presenting complex data clearly.
Understanding of data governance and secure reporting practices.
Desirable
Experience supporting data literacy or training users.
Awareness of Microsoft Fabric components and data warehousing concepts.
