We’re excited to share that PTSD UK is launching a brand-new national initiative designed to help workplaces across the UK become safer, more supportive environments for people affected by trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD).
Thanks to newly awarded funding, we’re developing the Trauma-Informed Workplaces Project. This programme will create, pilot, and evaluate a self-paced online training course that helps organisations understand trauma, reduce harm, and embed trauma-informed practice into everyday workplace culture and Occupational Safety and Health systems.
The project will be delivered in partnership with lived-experience contributors, specialist consultants, and a diverse range of pilot organisations, ensuring the training is practical, inclusive, evidence-informed, and grounded in real-world needs. Our aim is simple but powerful: to improve understanding, reduce stigma, and support meaningful, long-lasting change in how workplaces respond to trauma.
To lead this important work, we’re now recruiting a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of the Trauma-Informed Workplaces Programme from start to finish. This role will coordinate timelines, partners, pilots, evaluation, and reporting, helping to ensure the programme is delivered to a high standard and in line with PTSD UK’s trauma-informed values.

PTSD UK has been awarded funding to create and deliver our exciting new national training programme: the Trauma-Informed Workplaces Project, which will develop, pilot, and evaluate a self-paced online training programme designed to help organisations create safer, more supportive environments for those affected by trauma.
In this newly created role, you’ll lead the delivery of this project from start to finish – coordinating timelines, collaborating with experts, and ensuring every element runs smoothly. You won’t be responsible for writing or producing the training content yourself – instead, you’ll oversee and coordinate with consultants on research and development, ensuring everything is delivered on time, to brief, and to a high standard. You’ll help shape a pioneering programme that aims to transform workplace culture, raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), and embed trauma-informed practices into Occupational Safety and Health systems across the UK.

What you’ll be asked to do

The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of the Trauma-Informed Workplaces Project. Your key responsibilities will include:
Project Planning and Coordination
Lead the implementation of the project plan, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met across each phase (research, development, pilot, evaluation, and rollout).
Coordinate with PTSD UK’s Senior Operations & Development Manager and CEO on progress and strategic alignment.
Manage project documentation, risk assessments, and reporting in line with the funders requirements.
Support onboarding and collaboration with consultants, who will lead on content development and programme design.
Work closely with the web developer to ensure smooth integration of the learning platform into the PTSD UK website.
Stakeholder Engagement and Pilot Management
Recruit and manage relationships with 10 diverse pilot partner organisations across sectors such as healthcare, education, emergency services, and corporate employers.
Coordinate feedback workshops, gather insights from lived experience contributors, and ensure voices of those with PTSD and C-PTSD are reflected throughout the project.
Provide regular communication, support, and updates to pilot partners, ensuring engagement and satisfaction throughout the pilot phase.
Content Development Oversight and Delivery Support
Oversee and coordinate collaboration between the consultant, web developer, and internal team during content creation — ensuring smooth communication and timely delivery.
Manage project timelines for content review, feedback collection, and approval.
Ensure all training materials and modules meet accessibility, inclusivity, and safeguarding standards.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
Oversee the design and delivery of baseline, mid-point, and end-of-pilot surveys to measure impact on awareness, wellbeing, and organisational culture.
Track progress and outcomes, producing evaluation summaries, case studies, and final reports.
Provide regular updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the funders.
Marketing and Rollout Preparation
Manage communications and marketing for early promotion of the pilot and future rollout.
Gather testimonials and insights to inform future case studies and marketing materials.
Contribute to sustainability and scaling strategies for national rollout in 2027.

Experience required for the role
ESSENTIAL
Proven experience in project management or programme delivery, ideally within health, education, or non-profit settings.
Knowledge of PTSD, C-PTSD, or trauma-informed practice (professionally or personally).
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects.
Experience coordinating external consultants, partners, or contributors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
Confident using tools such as Microsoft Office, Zoom, CRMs, and project management software.
Ability to track data, prepare progress reports, and meet deadlines with accuracy and clarity.
Experience of working with or supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, and/or a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
DESIRABLE
Experience working in the charity, mental health, or Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) sector.
Familiarity with online learning platforms, evaluation frameworks, or impact reporting.
Experience managing grant-funded projects or working with funders.
