Project Change Lead

Location: This is a remote role with occasional travel require to attend meetings. 

Temporary: FTC 12 Months with potential for extension.

Working hours: Full time, Flexible working hours - We trust you to do your job and we appreciate that life doesn’t always fit around a 9 to 5 workday. We operate core hours of 10 to 4, Monday to Friday (37hr week)

Salary: £56,500 Per Annum

  • Join Police Digital Service as a Project Change Lead - 2 roles available. Salary £56,500 per annum.

    This role holder will engage with policing and partner agencies at a local/regional/national level to influence and coordinate the national transition, delivery and business change of specific allocated programmes/projects (please note that this role will require extensive travel to forces/other agencies).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Stakeholder identification and management activities to support the business change and project delivery

    • Act as the main programme/project point of contact and responsible party for coordinating with key stakeholders the on-boarding of designated forces to allocated programme/project(s).

    • Collaborate to enable production of communication materials and plans to support business change.  Monitor progress against business change plans, reporting progress and managing risk and issues that arise.

    • Plan, lead and deliver programme/project workstreams related to business change as outlined in the programme/project plan.

    • Work with the on-boarding force’s relevant teams to ensure the appropriate business change activities have been planned and implemented, sharing best practice where applicable, transferring specialist knowledge and sharing learning and best practice across forces.

    • Produce go live deployment plans and business change plans to enable change to be delivered and adopted successfully.

    • Coordinate, lead and facilitate workshops and meetings as required, and attend relevant meetings in the designated force areas. Chair key internal and external meetings to progress programme/project delivery in accordance with the national delivery plan.

    • Build and maintain effective relationships with Chief Officers and Tactical Leads to achieve buy in and commitment to allocated programme/project(s), supporting policing in forming and running appropriate programme/project governance structures and reporting, and identifying and disseminating best practice.

    • Promote cross-agency collaboration throughout the life cycle of the programme/project, engaging with local/regional/national stakeholders as required.

    • Coordinate and lead the completion of business and technical change impact assessments, readiness assessments, benefits baselining and realisation, and communications activities in forces.

    What you need to succeed in the role

    • Extensive experience across policing, law enforcement or criminal justice.

    • Evidence of planning, leading, and delivering business change and tactical programme/project delivery in complex, multiagency environments.

    • Ability to evaluate, analyse and swiftly summarise information; numerate with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy in written reports.

    • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communications skills to produce high quality briefings and collateral.

    • Ability to negotiate and influence decision making in an environment without direct authority over others.

    • Evidence of effective stakeholder management and multi-agency collaboration, able to manage and communicate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.

    • Ability and confidence to work and think independently as well as part of a team.

    • Ability to act with discretion, maintaining confidentiality where appropriate.

    • Confident use of technology and good grasp of digital agenda.

    • Proven experience of business change delivery.

    • Experience of risk, issue and dependency management and mitigation in a project/programme environment.

    • Experience of law enforcement transformation projects.

    • Experience of designing, building and embedding transition processes.

    This is a remote role with occasional travel require to attend meetings. 

    All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
