    About this role 

    The Prevention Hub works to improve and innovate prevention activities to keep communities safer. We support Fire and Rescue Services to work towards achieving the Prevention Fire Standard and Safeguarding Fire Standard.  

    What we are looking for 

    A proactive, professional and enthusiastic individual who will provide leadership and management across prevention in collaboration with the wider Prevention Hub. As a member of the Prevention Hub, you will have a key role in delivering change across the UK FRS. You will work with Lead Officers to co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of engagement opportunities. You will manage a small team who are part of the wider Prevention Hub.  

    Stakeholder engagement is a key element of this role by building effective relationships and networks. You will manage and be accountable for the development, delivery and review of key objectives, work plans, finance and monitoring processes to support FRS Prevention functions. You will have oversight of online Home Fire Safety Check platform and collaborate with key agencies and support the effective delivery and maintenance of the site.  

    What You’ll Bring 

    A level 5 Qualification or above in a relevant discipline   

    Experience of undertaking a national collaborative role 

    Proven project management experience   

    Experience of working collaboratively with a number of different partners i.e. Local Authorities, third sector organisations, to achieve successful outcomes  

    Experience of writing successful funding bids  

    Experience of staff management and development   

    Effective budget management experience. 

    Extensive experience and expertise of working in teams and translating process and practice through the practical application of strategies, plans and policies. 

    Proven experience of working in a team to motivate and improve performance   

    A track record of influencing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.  

    An understanding of the fire and rescue service environment including policy, governance and service delivery.  

    an excellent understanding of the fire sector and prevention approaches  

    Experience in developing, delivery and reviewing products  

    You will have a good understanding of the political environment    

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

    Excellent administrative skills and organisational skills   

    Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage  

    A good understanding of Safeguarding practice and creating safe environments 

    Experience of using a range of IT applications particularly Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint and Teams 

    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively 

    Willingness to travel across the UK
