Police Digital Service (PDS) is recruiting on behalf of the NPCC National Data & Analytics Office (NDAO) - a dedicated national capability transforming data and analytics use in policing.
NDAO - PMO Manager. Permanent. Salary £60,000 per annum.
For the first time, UK policing will have a recognised, accredited approach to data and analytics, helping forces to work smarter and more effectively without compromising security or integrity.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking function within policing which will shape the future of data and analytics in UK law enforcement and help to utilise policing data to better protect the public. The NDAO will ensure:
Responsible data use across law enforcement
Improved data governance and standardised datasets
Enhanced data analytics services to support operational decision-making
Professionalisation of data and analytics roles within policing
A more integrated data-sharing ecosystem across forces, with the appropriate tooling to exploit the data held
Key Responsibilities
Support the organisation through the full lifecycle of transformational change initiatives.
Formulate statements of work for delivering PDS work packages.
Lead and deliver successful business change activities for programmes/projects.
Plan, organise and deliver multiple programmes of work to tight deadlines and budgets.
Balance and matrix manage multiple resources in the development and execution of complex change programmes.
Manage staff within a change function.
Facilitate groups, balancing conflicting opinions and building consensus as necessary.
Effectively manage stakeholders of varying levels of seniority and multi-agency collaboration.
Understand the needs and experiences of stakeholders, using these to develop solutions or interventions to improve performance and achieve organisational outcomes.
Be a professional influence on key issues at Local, Regional and National Levels.
What you need to succeed in the role
Prince2, MSP, MoP or other relevant qualification.
Experience in a management role within a portfolio management office.
Experience in programme and project delivery.
Experience of applying project management methodologies (including Waterfall and Agile), tools and best practice.
Understanding and awareness of portfolio management best practice.
Experience in complex delivery involving large scale capability development and onboarding of solutions, products and organisations.
Experience of driving continuous improvement within a role and having a solution focused attitude.
Experience of working across multiple projects and programmes whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail and producing high quality outputs.
Ability to build strong working relationships across stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem solving and team working skills with experience of driving adherence to PMO standards.
Be a forwarding thinking, proactive individual with the ability to anticipate and act on future requirements.
Experience in working with tools and applications such as SharePoint, Power BI, Project Online and PowerApps.

Working Arrangements
This is a remote role with some national travel required to attend meetings.
All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
