Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.
At Waythrough, we know that real change starts with our people. We’re on the lookout for a creative, passionate Trainer to join our national Learning & Development team and help shape a culture of continuous growth and learning across our workforce.
About the role
As an Operational Trainer, you’ll play a vital role in building a supportive and empowering learning environment that enables people to thrive in their roles and beyond. Working within our Learning & Development team, you’ll design and deliver engaging, impactful training from first induction experiences to ongoing professional development.
You’ll help create inclusive, interactive learning that embody our values of kindness, courage and respect reflecting real-world challenges and supports our mission to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value.
As a Trainer, you will be responsible for:
Designing creative and accessible learning content using a variety of formats tailored to diverse learning needs
Delivering induction workshops to welcome new joiners to Waythrough, both online and in person
Facilitating a wide range of workshops and learning sessions to strengthen knowledge and skills across the organisation
Embedding feedback and evaluation to continuously improve learning experiences
Producing clear, standardised training materials and documentation
Collaborating with the wider L&D team to support the delivery of our people strategy
Staying informed on current best practices and developments in learning, training, and your professional field
Please note you don’t have to be an expert in Substance Misuse or mental health to succeed in this role, we want you to be an expert with people and passionate about learning and development.
While this role is primarily remote, occasional travel will be required to deliver in-person training sessions as needed.
About you
To succeed as a Trainer you will ideally have:
Experience in designing and delivering training to a range of audiences
Strong communication and facilitation skills, both online and face-to-face
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and with volunteers
A passion for creating learning that is inclusive, accessible, and values-driven
The ability to adapt content for different formats, platforms and learning styles
Knowledge of evaluation methods and using feedback for continuous improvement
But don’t just take our word for it, here is some of the feedback we’ve received:
