We are recruiting!
Join the Landworkers’ Alliance as the new Northern Ireland Membership Coordinator
About the role:
The LWA now has over 2,300 members across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we continue to expand and recruit more members and supporters. In Northern Ireland there are 22 members, a number which has been growing steadily in the past few years due to the efforts of our members in NI. We want to increase the number of actively engaged members and strengthen representation across different landwork sectors. We also want to support members to become more involved with the work of the LWA, and more connected to one-another.
To do this we are looking to recruit a Northern Ireland Membership Coordinator role.
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities and possibilities, including member recruitment, supporting grassroots organising with the membership, organising member events/activities and representing the NI membership to decision makers. We don’t expect you to do all of this, but we would encourage you to play to your strengths as well as working collaboratively with other organisations and individuals with complementary skillsets. The role will be shaped by the needs that arise as the membership grows and more people get involved.
We are a democratic, member-led organisation, and this role seeks to strengthen the capacity of the NI membership to be active on the issues they care about. You will work closely with the NI membership, particularly the voluntary member organising team who take an active role in coordinating member activities and comms channels. You will support the work of the NI member organising team, helping to run meetings and organise activities and developing the skills and abilities of the member organisers.
