Overall purpose
• To develop, coordinate and deliver projects across a multi-academy trust enrichment scale-up providing effective support to facilitators delivering in 17 schools, alongside confidently and successfully facilitating sessions.
• This programme builds on successful innovation pilots delivered previously in schools.
Main areas of responsibility
• To develop, coordinate and deliver projects across 17 schools, ensuring facilitator resourcing, content and delivery logistics are in place.
• Liaise effectively with schools and local guiding teams to coordinate delivery schedules and logistics alongside facilitators.
• Confidently provide oversight, guidance and support to freelance facilitators, ensuring they are fully equipped to deliver effectively. Acting as an escalation point for challenging sessions and incident disclosures, if required.
• Plan and deliver interactive sessions to young girls to build trust and a space where girls feel heard, valued and contribute, flexing to girls needs and feedback. This will include facilitating sessions with Girlguiding members and young people outside of Girlguiding under the age of 18. On occasion this will be unsupervised.
• Work proactively and independently to develop and deliver the programme of work ensuring objectives are met within agreed timescales
• Build trust and develop close working relationships with multi-academy trust, local guiding and wider local community in schools' areas.
Additional information
• To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required to fulfil the duties of this post.
• Out of hours working may be required, on average two evenings per month and one weekend working. Time off in lieu will be given for out of hours working.
• This post holder will be required to work in a supervised and, at times, unsupervised capacity directly with girls and young women as part of delivery in schools. Therefore, the post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced level criminal disclosure with a children’s barred list check.
Contract type
This is a fixed term contract until July 2026 role for 17.5 hours per week. However, at times you may be required to work more hours, including evenings and weekends.
Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be available to cover this. We don’t pay overtime.
Location
You’ll be homebased. Occasionally you may need to do your role from other Girlguiding premises within a reasonable travelling distance of this location. You may need to travel inside the UK as part of working for Girlguiding.
Salary
The salary for the position is £36,549 per year.
Holiday entitlement
You’ll have 25 days of paid holiday per year plus bank holidays. This will increase by 1 day for every year of service to a maximum of 30 days.
This allowance will be pro-rata for part-time and fixed-term employees.
Medical and criminal records check
Once you’re appointed, you’ll need to fill out a confidential occupational health questionnaire. This will let us consider how we can make any reasonable adjustments you need.
We may ask you to do a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. You’ll only be able to work for Girlguiding if this is satisfactory.

Leave
We give staff 25 days’ annual leave, which increases by 1 day for every year of service to a maximum of 30 days. You can also buy up to 35 hours of additional annual leave (pro rata for part time staff).

We offer career breaks too. After 3 years of working for Girlguiding, you can apply for a break of between 3 months and 1 year.

We offer a competitive group scheme, where we contribute 10% of your salary to your pension when you contribute a minimum of 5%.
Life assurance
We automatically enter all our staff into our life assurance scheme. It will pay out a tax free sum to whoever you choose if you die. This will be 4 times your salary. All our casual staff are entitled to up to £5,000.

Being family-friendly and flexible
We have a generous family-friendly policy, incorporating maternity, paternity / partner, adoption and shared parental leave. When you have qualifying service of 2 years, we top up Statutory Maternity Pay to 100% of your salary for the first 20 weeks of maternity leave, 50% for the next 19 weeks and 30% for the final 13 weeks. We also top up paternity / partner leave to your normal full pay if you qualify for the statutory scheme.

We take part in the government’s Cycle2Work initiative. This scheme allows you to buy or rent bikes and accessories through Girlguiding, in partnership with Halfords, while saving on tax and national insurance.

If you regularly use a laptop for work, we’ll contribute towards an eyesight exam and up to £55 for glasses every 2 years (after you complete probation).
