In this role you will:
lead and develop a small team of data scientists who will work on our new analytics platform.
have a hands-on role in developing and deploying a range of data science models, including those involving machine learning and NLP.
work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to identify the most impactful analytics projects, and to ensure any solutions address business needs.
You will have:
Significant experience in a data science role, including experience of managing more junior data scientists.
Experience in thinking strategically about how to develop a data science function.
Strong understanding of a range of analytics, data science, and machine learning techniques, and proven experience in deploying models in real-world situations.
Extensive programming ability in Python and/or R and strong ability to use SQL, and experience with NLP, ML libraries and frameworks and in using Git or other version control systems in collaborative software projects.
Demonstrable experience of formulating, solving, and implementing analytical solutions to business problems.
Effective at building and maintaining good relationships across a number of stakeholders and teams across the organisation.
Highly developed stakeholder management skills and the ability to ‘talk tech' to senior teams with a commitment to ‘plain English' and grounding highly technical concepts into local understanding.
Experience in utilising cloud platforms, ideally with Azure and Databricks.
