Hourly Rate: Full time salary (£26,500)
Hours: 40 hours per week. Our core hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm but we are looking for someone with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when the need arises.About Koru Kids:
At Koru Kids we have a triple mission: to support working parents during the hardest years of their life, to give children the best possible childhood to allow them to flourish as adults, and to create really great jobs for childcarers. We’re a marketplace, which means we have two customers: people who look after children and families. The challenge is massive, but our team is really good.
Our business is growing fast and we’ve delivered over 3M hours of childcare. We’re backed by strong investors and top-class VC’s. Our culture is informal, hard-working and kind. The team is an A+ when it comes to talent and our “no dickheads” rule means we’re also a humble and supportive bunch. We’re also really committed to working with integrity, doing the right thing and building a company we are truly proud of.
About the role:
This is a sales role where you’ll make a real difference to families’ lives. You’ll work with families actively seeking childcare, helping them find their perfect nanny and guiding them confidently through the process.
As Sales Executive, you’ll be responsible for converting potential family-nanny matches into successful placements. You’ll work with warm leads who have already expressed interest, managing them through the decision-making process to achieve our conversion targets.
Most of your time will be spent engaging with families to understand their needs, then showing them how our nannies can help. You’ll need to manage your own pipeline of potential matches, prioritise your time effectively, and take initiative to move families through the decision-making process with confidence. The role requires a perfect balance of sales drive and emotional intelligence – you’ll need to hit targets while being sensitive to the mental load that parents are carrying.
About you:
You’re a motivated self-starter with a natural drive to achieve results, balanced by genuine empathy. You’re driven by results but understand that the best way to achieve them is by truly understanding customers’ needs. We’re after someone who can balance commercial drive with care and consideration.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
You'll be great at this job if:
You’ve sold something before—urgently. Tutoring, estate agency, fitness memberships, or similar
You’re an excellent communicator who is at ease empathising with customer needs and feels driven to help others
You’re confident working with each parent on a one-to-one basis, ensuring their specific questions and concerns are addressed.
You’ve felt the rush of momentum when a customer says yes
You want to grow fast in your career. You’re not afraid of ambition
You take action when others wait
You follow up when others give up
You’re able to feedback collaboratively and effectively across teams
You are a team player – you work efficiently with a team to achieve team targets, whilst ensuring attention to detail and quality of service
You don’t wilt when things get uncomfortable—you lean in.
A typical day:
9am – Company-wide standup to hear what’s happening across the business. Quick call with your Team Lead to review yesterday’s conversions and agree on key selling points to hit today’s goals.
9.30am – Check your dashboard and celebrate – four families have offered jobs to nannies overnight! You process these offers promptly to keep your conversion pipeline moving.
10am – Taking calls from nannies who haven’t heard back from families after trials. You gather feedback and identify potential objections, making notes for follow-up calls.
11am – Review responses from yesterday’s SMS campaign, prioritise families showing strong buying signals and send personalised responses with clear calls-to-action.
12pm – A scheduled call with a family returning to work after maternity leave. They’re overwhelmed by childcare decisions and paperwork. You explain how Koru Kids removes this burden and move them to start interviewing nannies this week.
1pm – Well-earned break! Grab some food and step outside to recharge.
2pm – Join a session on improving conversions and share insights from a recent win with a hesitant family and volunteer to work with the product team on a conversion-boosting feature.
3pm – Back to your leads, focusing on post-interview families. Your consultative approach gathers feedback from both parties, and you proactively suggest trial dates.
4pm – Customer support alerts you to an urgent lead – a family whose nanny just gave notice and needs a replacement next week. You immediately reach out with suggested profiles, encouraging them to start messaging nannies straight away.
5pm – You focus on your highest-value leads: post-trial families without offers. Your follow-ups overcome objections and you secure two job offers.
5.45pm – Review your metrics against targets and update your lead tracker with detailed notes.
