HR Business Partner (South West)

Location: Hybrid - As part of our hybrid working approach, we can also offer flexibility in terms of location within the South West. Cornwall is preferred but as a minimum, candidates will need to be on site at our Falmouth/Redruth offices on a fortnightly basis. 

Working hours: This part time role is based on a 30 hours per week contract with working pattern open to discussion.

Salary: up to £36,000 (£45,000 full time equivalent)

    As a member of our Head office HR Business Partnering team, you’ll be curious, credible, good at building trust and brave to challenge the norm. With a strong commercial and people focus, including a broad understanding of key levers in a commercial business, this role is key to the continued success of Seasalt. 

    Working in partnership with your fellow Business Partners and wider HR team, you will focus on supporting and guiding your stakeholders to create and manage high performing and engaged teams that are focused on delivering the business goals and driving business profitability. You will translate business strategy into People Plans for your departments to create a culture where talent thrives.

    You'll help us by:  

    • Driving a proactive approach to the people agenda, questioning and challenging others to get to the root cause of people and business issues and identify solutions.

    • Developing and maintaining high functioning relationships with those you support, providing high support and high challenge. Partner with our Product and Trading teams initially, with exposure to other departments over time.

    • Actively coach and develop our leaders to improve capability that contributes to our leadership culture.

    • Autonomously delivering expertise and support to managers on complex people and organisational challenges.

    • Pro-actively support our culture and values and work with those you support to improve employee engagement levels within their teams.

    • Encouraging a culture of continuous feedback, providing Employee Relations advice and supporting the performance management process, investigations, disciplinary hearings etc.

    • Supporting wellbeing activity, influencing practical solutions to improve wellbeing and inclusion.

    • Leading project, change and consultation plans to ensure critical business changes are implemented in a way that aligns with our values.

    • Being a strong and visible advocate for change, leading and supporting the business through transformation.

    • Enhancing management confidence and capabilities through a coaching approach, supporting early resolution of people related issues and building management capability.

    • Working with stakeholders to develop goal orientated and people centric development plans

    • Contributing towards and taking responsibility for leading and managing various HR projects as required.

    • Analysing and using employee data, metrics and internal/external trends to provide our leaders with insights to inform business decisions, organisational structure and targeted initiatives helping them to implement appropriate strategies to address outliers.  

     

    The skills you'll be sharing with the team: 

    • Experienced HR professional with CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent experience

    • A demonstrable understanding of the majority of HR disciplines and new emerging HR trends

    • Commercial sector understanding and experience, ideally including Retail

    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to quickly and effectively build senior-level relationships and challenge effectively

    • Change management & OD experience

    • Curiosity to understand ‘why’ and develop best fit solutions. 

    • Ability to analyse and diagnose business issues and translate these into people-based solutions  

    • Highly credible, able to influence, consult and build consensus

    • Understanding of how to drive Employee Engagement  

    • Resilient and adaptable

    • Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
