    The Role

    As Strategic Head of Apprenticeships & Development, you will take ownership of the operational delivery, quality, and strategic growth of apprenticeship programmes.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Leading the end-to-end delivery of apprenticeship provision, ensuring high-quality learner experiences and outcomes

    • Driving apprenticeship performance, achievement rates, and compliance with funding rules

    • Developing and implementing apprenticeship growth strategies, aligned with organisational and commercial objectives

    • Ensuring full compliance with ESFA funding requirements, Ofsted standards, and apprenticeship frameworks/standards

    • Managing and developing high-performing teams across apprenticeship delivery, quality, and operations

    • Identifying opportunities to expand apprenticeship programmes, introduce new standards, and enter new markets

    • Building strong relationships with employers, stakeholders, and partners to enhance apprenticeship engagement

    • Using data and MI to monitor apprenticeship performance, learner progress, and quality improvement plans

    This is a strategic leadership role combining apprenticeship operations, funding knowledge, and commercial growth, ideal for someone looking to make a measurable impact.

    Ideal Candidate

    We’re looking for a driven and experienced professional with a strong background in apprenticeships and work-based learning.

    You will have:

    • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within apprenticeships or vocational education

    • In-depth knowledge of ESFA funding rules, apprenticeship standards, and Ofsted inspection frameworks

    • A proven track record of growing and improving apprenticeship provision

    • Strong commercial awareness with experience in driving apprenticeship starts and revenue growth

    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with employers and funding bodies

    • Experience leading teams across apprenticeship delivery, quality, and compliance

    • A data-driven approach to apprenticeship performance and quality improvement

    • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
