We are seeking an experienced Early Years Programme Leader to provide academic and sector leadership across our Level 2, 3 and 5 Early Years apprenticeship programmes.
This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality, learner-centred programmes that support apprentices to become confident and capable Early Years educators and leaders. You will champion best practice across programme delivery, ensuring provision aligns with apprenticeship standards and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Working closely with internal teams, employers, and sector partners, you will help ensure a consistent and high-quality learner experience while contributing to raising standards within the Early Years sector.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and line manage a team of Early Years Coaches, ensuring high standards of coaching, assessment and learner support.
Recruit, develop and support a high-performing coaching team with strong sector expertise and professional values.
Set clear expectations and manage performance through regular reviews, coaching and development conversations.
Support continuous professional development to ensure delivery reflects sector best practice and apprenticeship requirements.
Programme Delivery
Co-design and review high-quality learning resources for Early Years apprenticeship programmes.
Oversee programme delivery including apprentice inductions and assessment launch activities.
Ensure a consistent and engaging learner journey through effective communication and programme documentation.
Quality Assurance
Conduct regular quality assurance activities including observations, review of assessment decisions and learner records.
Maintain accurate programme data and ensure compliance with internal quality assurance processes.
Assessment & End Point Assessment (EPA)
Maintain strong knowledge of End Point Assessment requirements and sector developments.
Work collaboratively with End Point Assessment Organisations and industry partners.
Support apprentices with structured assessment preparation, including simulations and guidance aligned with assessment criteria.
Student Experience & Employer Engagement
Work with internal teams to support programme growth and the successful onboarding of new employers.
Act as an escalation point for employer or apprentice concerns, ensuring professional and timely resolution.
Build strong relationships with employers and stakeholders to support engagement and programme success.
Review student experience data and implement improvements to enhance learner satisfaction and outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience
At least 3 years’ occupational experience within the Early Years sector.
Level 5 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent) or above.
Experience leading or managing apprenticeship programmes, ideally within Early Years or education.
Experience delivering high-quality training or learning for adult learners.
Strong coaching skills and experience supporting learner development and performance.
Experience working collaboratively with employers and stakeholders.
A teaching, coaching or assessing qualification at Level 3 or above.
Experience undertaking internal quality assurance within apprenticeship delivery.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft 365 and online learning platforms.
Ability to analyse learner data and use insights to support decision-making and programme improvements.
Desirable
Experience managing or supporting a team of Early Years or Apprenticeship Coaches.
Previous line management experience within education, training or Early Years settings.
Experience working with curriculum or learning design teams to enhance learning resources.
Experience contributing to programme quality improvement or Ofsted readiness activities.
