Digital Officer

Employer: Chartered Institute of Fundraising

Location: Working from home (UK) with occasional attendance at events or meetings across the UK, including attending quarterly all-staff meetings in London.

Working hours: Full Time (35 hours per week). Requirement to work outside of regular office hours occasionally, as required, with time off in lieu. We are happy to discuss flexible working.

Salary: £27,500  

  • Purpose of Job:

     

    The Digital Officer will play a key role in the Marketing & Digital team with specific responsibility for the day-to-day monitoring of social media channels plus the creation and production of organic social for key areas of our organisation. In addition to this they will also be responsible for making content updates to the current Chartered Institute website. They will work with the Digital Manager to implement the digital marketing strategy across the organisation. They will engage key audiences online to achieve long term engagement, resulting in more people joining the Chartered Institute, interacting with our networks, learning through our qualifications, and attending our events and conferences, including Fundraising Convention, the biggest fundraising event of its kind in Europe.

     

    Key Accountabilities:

     

    Chartered Institute Website:

     

    • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Chartered Institute website, ensuring content is always current and up to date by working with individual teams across the organisation to support with content updates.

    • Build and creation of new sections of the website.

    • Producing monthly Google analytic reports.

     

    Social Media:

     

    ·        Working with the Digital Manager to monitor the day-to-day social activity across all channels, responding to comments and enquiries, escalating as appropriate to the Digital Manager.

    ·        Produce content for the social media channels (including LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, and Bluesky), and manage engagement with these on a day-to-day basis, in line with our organisational tone of voice and key messaging.

    ·        Plan social media content and manage the social media content calendar.

    ·        Champion the growth of social media networks and audiences by routinely collecting monthly data and providing analysis of digital and social media performance and trends across our channels.

    Other responsibilities:

     

    • Provide support with the CIOF360 app, including updating and uploading content.

    ·        Responsible for digital asset creation on Canva and Adobe suite.

    Undertake other tasks and duties as may reasonably be directed by the Digital Manager.

    Person Specification

    Experience & Skills

    • Website and social media worked experience;

    • Ability to develop a social media strategy aligned with goals (awareness, engagement, growth);

    • Ability to keep brand, tone and visuals consistent;

    • Able to create compelling messaging for campaigns and calls to action across digital and social media channels, and tailor communications to different target audiences;

    • Experience and knowledge of digital marketing, paid advertising and PPC across social channels;

    • Experience of using website CMS to update content;

    • An understanding of web optimisation and up to date knowledge of social media;

    • Experience of working with a range of stakeholders across an organisation to deliver successful campaigns;

    • Experience of producing social and digital media content, and able to demonstrate an understanding of what makes an effective digital and social media presence;

    • Good understanding of marketing principles;

    • Digital analysis and monitoring skills;

    • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications;

    • Experience of using design packages such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva (desirable);

    • Experience with social media publishing and monitoring tools such as Sprout Social (desirable);

    • Experience of working with a charity or community or campaigning organisation (desirable).
