    The Technical Assurance Coordinator is essential in ensuring that technology projects are delivered in accordance with approved designs, national policing standards, security requirements and best practices. This is a pivotal role in policing reviewing technical deliverables and recording key technical decisions that impact national policing systems. Working closely with technical architects, cyber security and delivery teams the Technical Assurance Coordinator will help maintain high levels of integrity across policing systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Run the technical assurance process ensuring all projects are assessed in line with delivery deadlines.

    • Record the technical decisions made by the technical design authorities and the reasons they were made.

    • Champion the use of assurance tools and processes technical standards.

    • Coordinate and lead the assessment of project outputs to ensure that they meet approved solution designs.

    • Build and maintain a set of assurance artifacts and collaborate with delivery teams to ensure they adhere to them.

    • Act as a central point of contact for all technical assurance queries.

    • Identify gaps or deviations from standards and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders.

    • Establish effective working relationships with the PMO and support them at project gate reviews.

    • Participate in project initiation to provide guidance on assurance requirements.

    • Provide training on the assurance tools and processes.

    • Participating in the running of the technical assurance boards.

    • Produce dashboard reports on all on-going assurance activities.

    What you need to succeed in the role

    • Extensive experience across policing, law enforcement or criminal justice.

    • Evidence of excellent verbal and written communications skills.

    • Ability to negotiate and influence decision making in an environment without direct authority over others.

    • Evidence of effective stakeholder management, able to manage and communicate with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.

    • Ability and confidence to work and think independently as well as part of a team.

    • Ability to act with discretion, maintaining confidentiality where appropriate

    Key Competencies:

    • Excellent attention to detail and quality focussed.

    • Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise workloads.

    • Good communication skills.

    • Good time management skills and ability to work unsupervised.

    • Ability to collect information from different sources.

    Required Qualifications & Experience:

    • Significant experience of working within a similar role.

    • Significant experience of working within a technical digital environment.

    • Knowledge solution architecture practices.

    • Ability to multi-task, working on several projects at any given time.

    • Excellent stakeholder management skills

    Working Arrangements

    This is a remote role with occasional travel required to attend meetings. 

    All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 )and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
