Temporary: Fixed-term, 12 months (with potential to extend if successful)

  • Go Beyond gives children (aged 8-13) facing serious challenges the chance to escape their daily struggles and enjoy the fun adventures that every child deserves. For over 30 years, we’ve provided fun filled, nurturing breaks for children from across the UK who are growing up in poverty, caring for others, or coping with other difficult life circumstances. Each fully funded 5-day break offers a safe space to build confidence, make friends, relax and play.

Scope and Purpose of the Role

This new role will drive the next stage of Go Beyond’s growth by strengthening our national network of referral and delivery partners.

Working closely with the Development Director and Referrals Team, the Children & Partnerships Manager will identify and build partnerships with potential referral partners across the UK. This will include large organisations, such as Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), Local Authorities and national charities, as well as smaller, local charities, family support services and community groups. They will take a strategic view of the UK’s landscape of child poverty and deprivation, mapping key cities and towns where children currently miss out on our breaks and discovering the key players, big and small, who are supporting them. Work will particularly focus on the areas around our Daleside and Coastal Centres, and building the partnerships that will help us reach them.

Once new partners are engaged, the Children & Partnerships Manager will build relationships with the frontline staff members who know children best, answering questions, allaying concerns and ensuring a smooth handover to our Referrals Team to ensure that referrals are successfully generated.

This is an opportunity for a natural connector and problem-solver who is passionate about ensuring every young person has access to the childhood experiences they deserve.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Network Development

    • Map areas of high child poverty and low current engagement, identifying the key organisations, schools and networks that could open access to vulnerable children.

    • Develop and implement a plan for growing Go Beyond’s referral base nationally.

    • Think creatively and pursue a wide range of opportunities to build Go Beyond’s reach with potential referrers

    • Cultivate relationships with existing referrers to inspire them to become Ambassadors of Go Beyond’s work and facilitate introductions within their network.

    • Represent Go Beyond at relevant networks, forums and events to raise awareness of our work and its impact.

    2. Partnership Management & Collaboration

    • Work with perseverance and determination to overcome barriers and cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships with senior leaders and commissioners in MATs, Local Authorities, and charities to secure sustainable referral pathways.

    • Meet with Teachers, Social Workers and other potential referrers to showcase Go Beyond’s provision and explain the referral process.

    • Work closely with the Referrals Team to hand over new partners seamlessly and ensure referral processes are clear, supported and well maintained.

    • Work with the Development Director to explore how Go Beyond’s pilot “pop-up” model could help us to reach more children in previously untapped geographic locations.

    • Create a pipeline of referrals to ensure that occupancy on all breaks is maximized and that we support the largest possible number of disadvantaged children.

    3. Insight, Impact & Reporting

    • Monitor and evaluate referral activity to understand reach, geography, growth and effectiveness.

    • Contribute to impact reporting for funders, Trustees and stakeholders.

    4. External Representation

    • Act as an ambassador for Go Beyond, sharing our story and outcomes confidently with external audiences.

    • Contribute to the charity’s wider communications and advocacy work, helping to raise awareness of the value of residential breaks for disadvantaged children.

    Who We’re Looking For

    Essential

    • Proven experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement or network growth, ideally within education, children’s services, or the youth charity sector.

    • Creative problem solver with the ability to translate insight into practical action.

    • Strong relationship-building skills, with the determination and tenacity to reach the right people and confidence in talking to and engaging with them.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

    • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and manage national travel.

    • Deep commitment to inclusion, equality and improving outcomes for disadvantaged children.

    • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across teams, particularly with operational colleagues managing referrals and delivery.

    Desirable

    • Experience working within or alongside schools or Local Authorities.

    • Understanding of child poverty, early intervention and the barriers children face in accessing support.

    • Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection principles.

    What We Offer

    • The chance to play a pivotal role in shaping Go Beyond’s national growth and ensuring more children get the breaks they deserve.

    • Flexible, supportive working environment with home working and part-time options.

    • Generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme.

    • A values-driven team who are passionate about transforming children’s lives.

Go Beyond is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We warmly welcome applications from candidates from underrepresented backgrounds and those with lived experience of the issues facing the children we support.
