Currently, nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia: a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime - either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both - and too often, people are left to cope alone with the relentless, ever-changing challenges. Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible.

We are looking for a Business Development Coordinator to help drive the effective coordination of our Business Development Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting the development of Admiral Nurse services.
This role combines team coordination, systems and data management, project support and line management. You will oversee the day-to-day administration function, manage and develop the Business Development Administrator, and help ensure the team has the processes, resources and information it needs to work efficiently and effectively.
Working closely with the Business Development management team, you will lead on improving systems, reporting and ways of working, bringing a continuous improvement mindset and looking for opportunities to streamline processes and reduce administrative burden across the team. Over time there will be opportunities for you to coordinate projects, support business development activity and help maintain oversight of growth opportunities, bids and commissioning activity.
We are looking for someone with experience in a coordination, business support or project-based role within a complex organisation. You will be highly organised, comfortable working with data and reporting, and confident managing multiple priorities in a remote environment. Line management experience is essential, and an understanding of health and social care commissioning would be beneficial.
Most importantly, you will be proactive, solutions-focused and confident using your initiative. You will enjoy improving processes, supporting others and helping teams deliver their goals, while building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Our culture
In addition to offering a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, we truly value our people. You will become part of a diverse and dedicated team who are supported to use and develop their skills. We recognise and value the key role you will play in delivering our strategic plans for the benefit of those living with dementia.
Our staff have a voice. Representatives from different roles and levels across the organisation lead and positively contribute to our working groups around health and wellbeing, menopause, and equity, diversity and inclusion.
Our supportive and nurturing workplace culture has recently earnt us recognition as the Sunday Times Best Place to Work in the non-profit and charities sector 2025 (big organisation).
Dementia UK is proud to welcome everyone. We aim for a truly inclusive culture with talented, diverse teams that represent a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We celebrate differences and individuality and encourage everyone to feel comfortable being themselves at work.
By applying to join Dementia UK, you acknowledge that in the event you are successful for the role, any offer and your ongoing employment will be conditional on you having or obtaining the right to work in the UK.
