  Join Police Digital Service as a Business Continuity Manager starting at £65,000

  As part of the continuing expansion of our IT service provision, we are looking for an experienced Service Continuity Manager to join the Operational Services Team. This is a key role in which the post-holder will be called upon to develop and maintain important strategies, policies and plans to ensure that the Police Digital Service can continue to operate and provide critical services in the event of a business continuity event.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a business recovery plan and procedure; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols.

  • Lead and facilitate execution of the plan and support plan navigation for the business during an event.

  • Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analysing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and market disruptions.

  • Collaborates with IT staff to develop and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems in the event of natural disasters, viruses, and hackers.

  • Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part or all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.

  • Creates and facilitates practice drills for plan execution.

  • Develops and provides staff training on risk management and disaster recovery.

  • Works with health, safety, and security staff to align the organizations emergency management plan with established best practices and community standards.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  What you need to succeed in the role

  • Experience in disaster recovery planning, particularly in relation to cloud-based services including Microsoft Azure and M365

  • Experience with cloud-based recovery solutions

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation

  • Enthusiastic about problem-solving, and a willingness to take responsibility and solve challenges

  • Familiarity with industry frameworks such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001

  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities and demands

  • An appreciation for confidentiality and the ability to be successfully vetted to SC and NPPV level 3

  This is a remote role with occasional travel required to attend meetings.

  All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 )and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
