  • Here at Serco, we're looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused Business Administration Apprentice to join our MyHR Shared Services team — and we'll give you the structured support, mentoring, and a fully funded Business Administration apprenticeship to build your career from day one.

This is a genuinely great first step into a professional office environment. You don't need prior experience in pensions or HR — what matters is that you care about getting things right, you're comfortable with data, and you approach every conversation with professionalism and patience.

You'll be processing pension and P11D data, preparing reports for external providers, and responding to queries from colleagues across the business. The work is varied, consequential, and sits at the heart of how Serco looks after its people.

Day to day you’ll be involved in:

    • Process transactional data for P11D and pension schemes, ensuring submissions from employees and pension providers are handled accurately and in line with scheme rules.

    • Prepare month-end reports for external pension providers, working to regular reporting cycles and deadlines.

    • Respond to pension queries via telephone, email, and ServiceNow — handling each one with professionalism, clarity, and empathy, because behind every query is a colleague trying to understand something that matters to them.

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Payroll Compliance and Pension team to keep processes running smoothly.

What you need to do the Apprenticeship?

    Essential:

    • Maths & English GCSE grade A-C/9-4, Level 2

    • A good level of digital and IT literacy — you're comfortable navigating systems and working with data.

    • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing your own tasks while knowing when to ask for support.

    • Willingness to learn and adapt — this is a role where doing things properly really matters.

    • You'll need to be within commuting distance of Solihull, with at least one day per week in the office plus any apprenticeship attendance requirements.

    • Use own initiative and work independently

    • Demonstrate a flexible approach to work

    • To meet the eligibility criteria for the apprenticeship, candidates must have been a UK resident for at least 3 years

No prior experience is required. A methodical mindset, a genuine willingness to learn, and a care for accuracy are what we're really looking for.

    What's in it for you?

    • Fully funded Business Administration apprenticeship

    • Onsite learning is paid, and completely transferable, full training and support is provided to help you on your pathway to a potential career

    • Opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional environment

    • A chance to work with a supportive and experienced team
