About the Team
Autism Know How is our autism training and best practice service. We help individuals and organisations develop, embed and strengthen their practice to ensure they are delivering the best possible support and services for autistic people. Through training, consultancy and specialist expertise, we work with a wide range of organisations to improve outcomes for autistic people and their families.
About the Role
We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Bid & Proposals Specialist to support the development and submission of high-quality public sector bids and proposals. Working closely with colleagues across delivery, finance and commercial development, you will help increase our bidding capacity, improve the quality and consistency of submissions, and ensure all proposals are compliant, compelling and submitted on time.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of bid coordination, proposal development or public sector procurement who wants to use their skills to help secure opportunities that expand our impact and improve outcomes for autistic people.
What You'll Do
Coordinate bid and tender activity, managing timelines, deadlines and contributor input across multiple workstreams.
Produce and refine clear, compelling and compliant written responses tailored to public sector requirements and scoring criteria.
Work collaboratively with delivery teams, finance, safeguarding and subject matter experts to gather content, evidence and supporting documentation.
Maintain high-quality bid resources, including templates, case studies, CVs and organisational information.
Support contract reporting, mobilisation and monitoring activities to ensure successful delivery of awarded contracts.
Identify opportunities to improve bidding processes, tools and documentation to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
Experience coordinating bids, tenders or proposal development activities within a professional environment.
Strong written communication and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear and persuasive content.
Understanding of public sector procurement processes and compliance requirements.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and confidence working with documentation, templates and reporting tools.
A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to build positive relationships across teams.
Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and the values of the National Autistic Society.
Desirable:
Experience within social care, education, health, disability or autism-related services.
Bid writing training, qualifications or experience leading end-to-end bid processes.
Knowledge of autism practice or disability-related services.
