    The Bid Writer will work collaboratively with the Commercial Director and other team members to maximise successful bid submissions. This role involves managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring all required information is included and producing high-quality, tailored responses that score maximum marks against tender scoring criteria. The Bid Writer will contribute to pricing and win strategies, maintain a library of best practice responses, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver market-leading bids. The role also includes assisting in bid/no-bid decisions, identifying risks, and ensuring all submissions meet the highest quality standards within agreed deadlines. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to support the team in achieving business growth through successful tenders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Managing bids from start to finish, including timetabling, prioritising workloads, and ensuring all required information is included.

    • Writing compelling, tailored responses to bid questions to achieve maximum scores, utilising examples and case studies.

    • Analysing tender service data to inform pricing and win strategies.

    • Supporting bid/no-bid decisions by evaluating requirements and assisting internal decision-making.

    • Maintaining and regularly updating a directory of standard/best practice responses for future bid submissions.

    • Collaborating with bid directors and subject matter experts to ensure high-quality responses reflect the latest company experience.

    • Reviewing and improving internal templates to optimise formatting, readability, and presentation.

    • Identifying and communicating risks associated with tenders.

    • Ensuring tender deadlines are met by establishing priorities, setting target dates, and proactively gathering information.

    • Writing, reviewing, and approving bids pre-submission to align with agreed win strategies.

    • Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverable tender submissions.

    • Assisting with the development of pricing strategies for each bid.

    • Monitoring and updating tracking data, coordinating requirements with relevant parties, and contributing to review meetings.

    • Following proposal-writing standards to ensure readability, consistency, and tone in all submissions.

    • Engaging with all stakeholders to deliver high-quality, winning bids.

    • Reviewing and updating boilerplate responses, case studies, and tendering collateral to ensure market-leading submissions.

    What we are looking for

     

    We are looking for a self-motivated and highly organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Office 365, and a thorough knowledge of tendering processes.

    Experience in winning business-to-business tenders, managing workloads effectively, and meeting targets and deadlines is essential.

    The role requires someone with great attention to detail who can work at pace as part of a small team, solve problems proactively, and contribute to the development of high-quality bid submissions. A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively are key to success in this role.

    You will have previous experience working on Occupational Health Bids.
