Your future team:
You’ll be joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering software and content licensing solutions that empower UK further and higher education institutions. Working alongside experienced licensing managers and portfolio specialists, you’ll gain hands-on experience by attending key meetings, supporting negotiation processes, and actively contributing to a variety of licensing initiatives that shape the future of education.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Project Manager Apprentice
A typical day sees you supporting the licensing team, preparing for vendor negotiations, tracking licence agreements, and reviewing pricing proposals and contract terms to ensure they meet academic needs. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and gain hands-on experience in the processes that keep Jisc’s licensing work running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining documentation and CRM records, supporting stakeholder consultations, and contributing to reporting on agreement performance and sector impact. You’ll also help identify potential issues with vendor delivery and assist in updating licence terms, pricing, or scope as needed.
Collaboration sits at the core of this role. You’ll partner with colleagues across licensing, procurement, data, and business operations, bringing together diverse expertise to understand member priorities and drive projects forward. By working seamlessly across teams, you’ll help turn complex needs into impactful delivery.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in technology, education, and business. You’ll bring an appreciation of the project management lifecycle and understand the skills and qualities that drive successful delivery. Whether you’ve managed small projects at school or contributed to larger initiatives outside of an educational setting, we want to see your passion for project work and your ability to apply lifecycle thinking to achieve results.
You’ll feel comfortable managing a variety of tasks and deadlines, with the awareness to spot when objectives may be slipping and the initiative to help get things back on track. Clear communication, both written and verbal, will be important, alongside a customer focused approach and a genuine commitment to delivering quality.
This is the ideal opportunity for you if you’re a proactive team player with strong organisational skills, confidence using Microsoft 365, and a keen eye for detail. With a positive, learning focused mindset, you’ll embrace feedback, grow quickly, and make a real impact.
