We are looking for a Full Time Administrator - Maternity Cover (for up to 12 months). In this role you will provide essential administration support to our Conservation Science Department within the Operations Team. You will have experience of delivering effective and proactive administrative support to facilitate the smooth delivery of our work programmes.
What's the role about?

Additionally, occasional travel to other locations may be necessary to provide in-person support for meetings and events. You will play a central role in keeping our teams running smoothly, working closely with the Principal Administrator.
Using Microsoft Office 365 tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams as well as OneDrive and SharePoint to keep everything organised and accessible.
Administration of financial processes and procurement
We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, flexible, and solutions-focused. You’ll be confident juggling multiple tasks, building strong working relationships, and handling sensitive information with discretion.
Use of Outlook calendars and tools such as Doodle poll to identify suitable dates to assist with planning and arranging meetings and events.
Arranging and supporting meetings and events both online and occasionally in person.
Co-ordinating travel and accommodation (including international travel).
To assist with management of Conservation Science pool stock of laptops, mobile phones and other IT equipment for allocation and distribution to seasonal staff and liaising with our IT Department for support.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications and tools, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of SharePoint Online
Knowledge of document management and team collaboration tools
Knowledge of financial terminology and processes
Able to prioritise tasks effectively, particularly when under pressure from competing priorities
Able to communicate and engage effectively with a wide range of audiences whether by phone, video, email or in person
Proactive approach to problem solving.
Able to organise and coordinate all aspects of meetings and events logistics
Experience of working in an administrative role
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s, including Maths and English
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
Interest in and knowledge of conservation and the natural world
Experience of working with volunteers
This is a full-time maternity cover role Monday to Friday for 37.5 hours per week up to 12 months.
The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
