    About the role

    Location: remote (some travel for face-face clinics with overnight stays)

    We are excited to open an opportunity for the role of Academy Admiral Nurse within the Admiral Nurse Academy.  

    This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping and strengthening the Admiral Nurse Academy as we deliver Dementia UK’s 2025–2030 strategy. As an Academy Admiral Nurse, you will work alongside Admiral Nurse Leads to support the development and facilitation of Admiral Nursing practice, helping nurses grow in both their clinical expertise and service development. You will promote engagement and independent learning across the Academy, collaborating with colleagues across the charity to further enhance our offer. 

    Bringing your clinical expertise to the wider clinical directorates, you will support practice and service development as the number of Admiral Nurses continues to grow, always with the goal of achieving the best possible outcomes for people living with dementia and their families. The role offers exposure to a wide range of Academy activity, providing excellent opportunities to broaden your experience while contributing to the continued development and impact of Admiral Nursing. 

    We are seeking a current Admiral Nurse with expert knowledge of dementia and therapeutic family work, alongside strong facilitation, mentoring and advanced communication skills. You will have experience of practice development, quality improvement and clinical supervision, and be confident translating evidence and theory into meaningful practice outcomes. The role requires credibility as a clinical leader, the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and confidence in supporting change. 

    This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
