We are looking for a War Pension & Armed Forces Compensation Caseworker to join our War Pension & Armed Forces Compensation Service providing tribunal representation, advice, guidance and case management to beneficiaries, ensuring Royal British Legion’s commitment to support the Armed Forces Community and the needs of beneficiary are at the centre of all that we do.
This role will see you as the main point of contact for individuals navigating the complexities of their claims, reviews, reconsiderations, and appeals related to both the Service Pension Order and the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. You will manage your own caseload, guiding beneficiaries through the entire process with empathy, expertise, and a commitment to putting their needs first.
Reporting to the War Pension & ARCS Manager, key responsibilities will include:
Provide specialist advice on War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation, ensuring all guidance is accurate and reflects current legislation
Manage a diverse caseload, preparing cases from initial claims through to the appeals process and providing ongoing support to beneficiaries
Conduct in-depth analysis of case files and paperwork, preparing for key dates and providing beneficiaries with clear information, guidance, and advice at every stage
Support beneficiaries through appointments and tribunals, summarizing findings, setting expectations, and outlining next steps
Maintain detailed and accurate case records using our case management systems
Identify and address additional needs of beneficiaries, referring them to other RBL teams
Collaborate with other services within the RBL to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to supporting beneficiaries
