Salary: £34,000 - £43,350 (this will be pro‑rata'd to reflect part-time hours)

We are delighted to invite applications for a Level 7 Specialist Teacher – Dyslexia Assessor to join the SEND team at King’s InterHigh. This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely while providing high‑impact specialist assessments and targeted intervention to students across our online school.
As part of our commitment to personalised education, we are seeking an experienced assessor who is confident in delivering high‑quality diagnostic work, advising teachers and families, and shaping best practice for learners with dyslexia and related specific learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will have experience in completing Dyslexia assessments, Form 8 access arrangement assessments and 1:1 Dyslexia private tuition across a school. Online experience for Dyslexia Assessments is desirable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Level 7 Specialist Teacher – Dyslexia Assessor, you will:
Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct comprehensive dyslexia assessments in accordance with SASC and JCQ requirements.
- Complete Form 8 assessments to support access arrangements.
- Produce high‑quality, clear, and actionable diagnostic reports that support student learning, intervention planning, and exam access recommendations.
- Maintain rigorous assessment standards, ensuring ethical, evidence‑based practice.Teaching & Intervention
- Deliver, as required, specialised teaching for learners with dyslexia and related SpLDs.
- Plan and deliver structured, personalised intervention programmes.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents, staff, and the SEN team.Collaboration & Training
- Work closely with the SEN department, teachers, and pastoral staff to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting learners.
- Provide guidance, training, and best‑practice advice to staff on identifying and supporting students with dyslexia.
- Support whole‑school approaches to inclusive education and raise awareness of SpLD needs across the school.Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and secure record‑keeping in line with school and data‑protection requirements.
- Maintain continuous professional development (CPD) to remain compliant with professional standards and updated guidance.
- Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities.
- Communicate with parents and other stakeholders to ensure they feel supported and receive the best possible outcome for students.
- Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Level 7 qualification in SpLD (e.g., Postgraduate Diploma in Dyslexia or equivalent)
Current APC registration (or AMBDA with a valid APC)
Demonstrated experience delivering dyslexia assessments and writing full diagnostic reports
Experience completing JCQ‑compliant assessments for access arrangements
Knowledge of current legislation and guidance surrounding SpLD assessment and provision
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a remote setting
Commitment to inclusive education and ongoing professional growth
Desirable
Experience conducting online dyslexia assessments
Experience delivering specialist tuition in a digital or remote environment
