High-Growth Consumer Marketplace | UK & European Expansion£50-60k salary
Fully remote – with option to go into Leeds office as often or as little as you like
Forward Role are excited to be partnering with a rapidly scaling consumer marketplace brand on a genuinely exciting opportunity to build and scale their SEO function at a pivotal stage of growth!
This is not a maintenance role. It is a foundational mandate to turn organic search into a core, scalable acquisition engine across the UK and international markets.
The business already has strong underlying demand and significant untapped potential across non-brand organic search. They are now looking for a commercially minded SEO leader to unlock that opportunity and embed best practice across product, platform and content.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Growth Director, you will own the strategic direction and hands-on execution of SEO across the business. This role has genuine autonomy and influence, with responsibility for prioritisation, roadmap input and measurable performance impact.
You will build structure where it does not yet fully exist — defining frameworks, documentation, reporting and governance that elevate SEO into a mature, high-impact growth channel.
Your work will directly contribute to non-brand traffic growth, acquisition efficiency, conversion quality and long-term revenue impact.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
SEO Strategy & Prioritisation
Owning the SEO roadmap across UK and international markets
Building a clear prioritisation framework aligned to commercial outcomes
Identifying high-impact non-brand opportunities across rankings, CTR and content gaps
Defining success metrics across visibility, traffic and downstream performance
Technical SEO & Platform Partnership
Leading technical SEO across crawlability, indexation, architecture, internal linking, structured data and performance
Partnering closely with Product and Engineering to embed SEO into release cycles and platform decisions
Supporting platform or CMS changes with strong risk management and best practice
Maintaining technical hygiene through audits and monitoring
Content & Optimisation
Working with Content teams to develop scalable pillar and cluster strategies
Optimising on-page structure, metadata and internal linking frameworks
Strengthening trust and authority signals across priority topics
Ensuring content is built for long-term compounding organic growth
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Establishing reporting frameworks that clearly demonstrate impact
Building testing cadences to improve visibility, engagement and conversion
Quantifying incremental non-brand growth
Continuously improving workflows and execution standards
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for someone who has built or rebooted SEO in a high-growth consumer or marketplace environment and is comfortable operating without heavy legacy processes.
You will likely bring:
5–10+ years of hands-on SEO experience
Proven experience building SEO foundations from scratch or resetting underperforming channels
Strong technical and on-page SEO expertise
A commercial mindset focused on revenue and acquisition efficiency
Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams
Experience operating across multiple markets and languages
Most importantly, you want ownership of performance outcomes, not just delivery tasks.
Growth Potential
This is a foundational hire with significant long-term scope. As the business continues to scale, there is real opportunity to expand influence, build team capability and shape the future direction of organic growth.
The organisation is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace where different perspectives are valued. If you feel aligned to the opportunity but do not meet every requirement, I would still welcome a conversation.
If you are an SEO leader looking to build something meaningful within a high-growth environment, I would be happy to discuss this opportunity confidentially.
