    About the Role

    As a Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be responsible for leading month-end processes, overseeing year-end statutory accounts, managing tax and treasury functions, and identifying opportunities for improvement across financial systems and processes. You’ll collaborate across finance teams, act as a key contact for auditors and external stakeholders, and ensure all financial practices meet statutory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the month-end close process and timetable delivery

    • Review and improve financial accounting processes and controls

    • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and statutory year-end activities

    • Oversee VAT, corporation tax, PAYE, and Gift Aid submissions

    • Manage treasury functions, including donor payments and banking arrangements

    • Serve as a super-user of finance systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics BC)

    • Act as a liaison with auditors, HMRC, and financial institutions

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and compliance

    Role-specific knowledge & skills

    Essential:

    • Qualified Accountant or passed finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

    • Strong financial accounting and treasury management experience

    • Advanced Excel skills and solid data management abilities

    • Knowledge of UK GAAP, Charity SORP, and tax regulations

    • Proven year-end and audit delivery experience

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

    Desirable:

    • Experience in systems implementation and process improvement
