The Project Manager/Programme Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of a novel new approach to ND pathways involving cross-functional teams, customers and internal/external executive level stakeholders
The role ensures that the project delivers on time, to specification and meets customers expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership and Project Management
Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale transformation projects (e.g. digital transformation, new pathway design and mobilisation, at scale triage solutions and technical innovation)
Define and deliver the agreed projet plan, ensuring execution aligns with the organisation’s strategy, objectives, and success criteria.
Ensure transition from project into business-as-usual operations is planned, delivered, and sustained
Work with operational leads to embed pathways into live service delivery, not just design
Establish clear decision-making, reporting, and escalation structures to maintain control of delivery
Ensure delivery to agreed scope, time, cost, and quality
Planning and Execution
Develop and maintain project roadmaps, plans, and dependencies
Translate strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans
Identify and manage interdependencies across teams and business areas
Drive benefits realisation and track outcomes against business cases
Maintain pace of delivery, proactively removing blockers and accelerating progress where required
Stakeholder Management
Engage senior stakeholders across relevant internal functions and, hold internal teams and stakeholders accountable for their contributions to programme delivery
Build strong relationships with external executives, decision makers and influencers, clinicians and business partners
Provide clear and consistent reporting to governance forums
Manage conflicting priorities and ensure alignment
Governance and Compliance
Ensure projects comply with regulatory and legal requirements, including UK GDPR
Ensure all project outputs align with clinical standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations
Establish robust risk, issue, and dependency management processes
Ensure adherence to organisational governance frameworks and standards
Financial and Resource Management
Deliver the project within the agreed budget set by the leadership team, maintaining strict control of costs
Collaborate with the Finance team to manage budget
Allocate and adjust resources to ensure delivery milestones are met within financial constraints
Monitor financial performance and forecast costs and take corrective action to protect delivery liaising closely with the CCO
Support procurement and management of third-party suppliers
Change management
Ensure effective communication and engagement plans to support rollout and minimise resistance
Track adoption and usage including barriers to implementation and liaise closely with CCO plan resolutions
Work closely with HR and training teams to support workforce readiness
Data, Digital and Innovation
Support the implementation of digital, data, and AI-enabled initiatives
Ensure alignment with data governance and security requirements
Promote innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation
What you need to have
Essential
Proven experience delivering complex programmes in healthcare, NHS, or private medical insurance
Strong knowledge of programme and project management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile)
Experience working with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and governance
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and deliver ROI
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills
Desirable
Experience with digital transformation, ND pathways, or AI programmes
Knowledge of clinical safety standards and healthcare data governance
Experience working with regulators or in regulated environments

As part of our pre-employment checks, all employees of Healios will be asked to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Dependent on your role within the business, this will either be an Enhanced or Basic. A Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be required. You will also be asked to provide two professional references as a minimum.
